Sorcery patch should come with better anticheats or more active moderation

This game’s longevity in the PVP community is quite fragile. Populated PVP community servers have overzealous admins or massive rulebooks that is impossible to follow or otherwise change the game too much.

This leaves Official PVP servers as the final bastion to play Conan Exiles how it was meant to be played. After a week of playing I’ve witnessed dozens of cheaters, many of them repeat offenders, who don’t get banned for awhile (since you have to file a Zendesk ticket with footage then wait until the admin team gets to it). By the time they get banned they can just summon 30-50 gods and wipe a server which happens once in awhile. There are threads about it every 3-4 months for each official it seems.

Not to mention when there is an active cheater you don’t really wanna do anything because then you just get killed and lose your gear. Even the cheaters know each other by name.

I really want to be excited for Sorcery but unless the cheaters get nuked or quicker response times to banning them I don’t see how it will change anything for PVP players and servers. If anything there will be an influx of returning players who rejoin official pvp servers and become severely disappointed when a cheater kills them and everyone else is like “meh, thats conan”.

This is quite possibly the most untrue statement I have ever read.

The game is “meant to be played” the way you want to enjoy it. If you want anarchy, that’s one playstyle. That doesn’t make it the correct one for everyone else.

I believe cheaters do get permabanned, the issue is it can take up to a week from a report to end with a ban. At which time the cheater just spins up a new account and gets right back to it if he feels like it.

If you think getting banned does anything, then you don’t understand how cheaters work. They have their main accounts, but create new accounts to do the cheating. They then supply the new character with everything they need to wipe a server. That character wipes another player or clan, then hands over all the stuff the the main character, rinse and repeat until they are banned (if ever). If they are banned, then create a new account and start over again. All the while, the original character and clan remain “innocent”.

Banning does nothing against cheaters.
