Sometimes, when star metal meteors crash and you try to blow them up, they don’t, even with a bunch of explosive jars, while most of them blow up with one jar. It has happened in various locations, many times, and it’s very frustrating to waste jars on meteors that you eventually can’t crack open anyway…
Use explosive arrows. never fails.
Yes, bug meteorites. Happens to us sometimes too. Usually, it is one that has been there for a while and never seems to happen with newly fallen ones. We place an explosive jar next to the meteorite and shoot it with a poison gas arrow, which creates one heck of an explosion and burn. It is a reliable method, but if it is a bug meteorite, it will not crack for anything. Rule of thumb, is that if it doesn’t crack on the first try, leave it be and save the explosives for another one.
I did read that going out of rendering range of the meteorite and then come back, it fixes the problem. I haven’t had a chance to try that out yet, but it is worth a go.
This issue existed last October.
Don’t expect it to be fixed anytime soon, if at all.
cracking them has been improved however there are still duds that drop unfortunately.
Few of them, that do this “a lot” you often have get them at right angle, explo-jar, explo-arrow etc.
If it doesnt break 1st try, try from another angle. (or move on to another) There sitting in ground weird, that seem to be it really. Only 2, I have encountered that i could not break, but they were in ground further then most.
