Could you guys NOT open a new thread for every one of you? It is annoying.
We got it, they removed a mod, for whatever reason and they did not say anything about it.
But literally spamming the exaxt copies of one thread is a stupid thing. They will get closed, delisted, or just merged into one. Just because there are 666 threads already, that does not mean they will react quicker or differently at all.
I use mods too, but if they remove it, I won’t open dozens of threads, it’s pointless. And it upsets the other forum users who just want to read the forums, but now we can’t find anything in this TOT-ocean…
Or you guys just are just too lazy to scroll down (wow, you don’t even need to scroll…) and comment under the first thread?
Is it too hard to do?
Lol there isn’t a sea of posts, Just 8 all bunched up together.
But on real terms yes as someone that uses Tot! as well I don’t see the need for more posts to be opened on the topic, Granted alot of people are angry at the first post getting locked without any word apparently thats a bot thing but
First one was not closed because of “silencing” but because of the flags. It will be checked and I think will be reopened, because it contains nothing to be closed.
@Taemien sorry, I don’t understand what you were saying, I’m not the best in english.
It wasn’t really directed at you specifically to be honest. But there’s been a lot of posts about issues with server administration on Funcom’s servers, when they could also keep them to one thread.
But the reason you’re seeing so many posts about the mod issue is because there is A LOT of players who use mods and the one in question is used by a very large portion of the community that doesn’t normally frequent the forums. Now that they have an issue, they’re here (like most people).
The first thread (which was locked) had over 2,600 views in 6 hours compared to the music thread which has around 3,800 views in 10 months. That should give a pretty interesting indication to the amount of people affected.
Also quite a few of those forums were posted at the exact same time. Likely because the ones in the middle of writing their first post and submitting it glanced over the forums, didn’t see anyone talking about it yet, and then got absorbed in writing out their first response to the situation and all hit enter near the same time. I think out of all of them only two…? Maaaybe three, if we count the one opened once hte original one locked, were created after those original threads popped up. Maybe four…but a good like…five or six of them all hit the forum at the same time.
Yes there alot of “unfair ban” threads. But generally they happen over days/weeks, so it is easy to not see one that “dies” down and gets pushed down the current list. What we have here is literally over hours, with the most current easily seen. Whether they mean to or not, it comes across as a zerg on the forums. Which will only hurt thier message imo.
You don’t have to make their job harder. They are not the ones who deleted the mod.
And see, as @Narelle showed it is in the rules, and all of the copypaste posts were merged into the original, which is reopened now.
Given so many were at one time, I also suspect that there may have been a post on steam or elsewhere to rally and spam the official forum. Most people don’t join the forum all at the same time. Sure, there was small handful of vocal people that did this when the rollback occurred, but not this many. It almost seems planned… particularly since there was also a petition that they were signing.
As a console player—who plays on official—I play the game in its purest form. I play almost every day and still get joy out of the game as it is… I find these players that threaten to never play the game again because a set of mods will stop making it fun to be a bit close-minded… but that’s another topic altogether.
It’s just crazy to me that after everything Funcom has done, heck even in just the last three months, this mod I have never even heard of after playing the game for nearly 6 years is the issue of the century. THE HORROR! If you’re like me and had no clue waht this is, it’s just an extended character creator.
I looked at some of the things people have made with it (they’re spammed on the forums everywhere right now) and I really dont see what makes it so essential. Most of the stuff looks extremely off and weird, especially the dudes with beards and most of them are all using the same female face lol.
I love character creation as well, so I can certainly see the frustration. However, I suppose since I never had it in the first place, nor ever will, I can deal. I’m on PlayStation playing the game in its absolute worst incarnation. I’m just a dirty pleb playing in mud. What do I know?
I thought the same. Probably on the discord, they discussed to flood the forums, because it seems it is the same ~20ish people.
@Obsidious I did not hear about the mod either. I use 30 mods roughly at time, but this one missed me. I mean I don’t belittle the author’s work, it’s not a small mod that changes one line, but still…there are bigger problems, and there weren’t nearly as much copypaste threads about them. So I highly doubt this “attack on the forum” was not planned.
You’re probably right I just wish people were more passionate about things that actually matter in the base game. I’ve played enough WoW to know just how obsessed these RP types are, and no shame you’re free to be as weird as you want, but really… the complete lack of effort or content in AoW is fine but don’t you dare remove my ability to change my face to something different!
If you really have thousands of hours in the game, bought the battle pass, and bought a bunch of crap off the store I just don’t understand why funcom would care. They literally already have your money and you paid way more than most players, it’s not like there aren’t non-RP whales out there.
Obsidious - What matters differ from one person to another. You cannot just tell people what matters to them… Invalidating other people’s concerns/hobbies just because it doesn’t concern what you love and care about is indifference. It’s like telling someone who could care less about video games that you love playing video games and getting told you’re weird or nerd or that you need to get a life because video games aren’t real.
rolee9309 & jmk1999 - No, it’s not a planned attack. People who are roleplaying in the game are actually affected and that’s a lot of RP servers with Tot ! Custom as the core of their character customization. Steam pulled the plug with no valid reason communicated to the developer. The dev reached out to Steam and was told it was the publisher who requested it but still not given any reason. I am no roleplayer and have not really played on a server with the said mod but I feel they’re passionate about something and just taking away their passion with no valid reason or communication to the dev to rectify whatever the issue was is totally unjust and infuriating.
Note: There are people who crossed the line but those don’t represent the whole.
Funcom is probably quite aware that few people with “thousands of hours of play time, always does the battle pass, and has bought many items from the store” are actually going to quit.
And even if you do, you’ve still given them hundreds of dollars.
