Please remember that they boosted T2 to try to make it a viable option. If we take the at face value with that, we should see similar kits in the future for t2.
No, we’re not, but this isn’t one. Funcom is adding brand new content and charging for it. There’s nothing anti-consumer about it.
Frankly, as someone who has been complaining about actual anti-consumer behavior, this just pіsses me off.
No wonder there are people on this forum who react to any complaints about anti-consumer practices with “lol you just want everything for free”. People like you are proving them right.
You paid for the Isle of Siptah DLC. Do you know what “DLC” stands for? It’s “downloadable content”. You paid for the content you downloaded. You didn’t pay for anything more than that. The content didn’t include these pieces. Hell, those pieces didn’t even exist back then.
Bingo.
No, i don’t expect everything to be free. That’s putting words in my mouth. Not once did i say that. But Imagine releasing a DLC building pack charging 10 bucks for it. then 2 weeks later they release the exact same themed pack at the same price but with 8 extra items in it. I think anyone has a right to complain as to why those extra 8 items weren’t included in the first place, it’s called price gouging and extreme monitizitation.
Those are fine with terrible business practices shouldn’t be voicing support for greedy monitization practices. When we paid for Themed packs, we got a full pack, nothing missing. Now we pay for a DLC pack and then a few months later have to pay up again for the same themed stuff. Now the Stormglass Building set came with siptah That expansion costed 20 bucks and we got a whole lot more value for our money, now they’re charging almost half of that for a minor adition to a themed pack we already paid for. And some of you seem to think that’s totally fine and worth defending.
Except nothing like that happened here.
Siptah released over a year and a half ago. Then they decided to spend additional resources and man hours to make new pieces. Which they have every right to charge for.
By your logic, the bazaar shouldn’t exist at all and everything new should just be given to you.
Yeah Siptah is almost 2. Time flies. If you want something new, you gotta pay for it somehow. Sorcery didnt happen in a vacuum, and my guess is, base game sales aren’t what pays the bills.
Extreme monetization, predatory business practices, corporate greed, yada yada yada. Its called producer and consumer. They make it and you decide if you want to buy it. By the logic presented here, any expansion of the game at fee is predatory because we didnt have it at start. Its exhausting. People should go whine at a car dealership about up charges on cars and see how that goes. Only online can people hang out in their “place of business” and whine like this.
Yeah.
Yes.
So there isn’t a paywall to use it…although it may not match well with what you have access too
Imagine releasing a DLC containing a new map, a variety of new weapons and armor, and two new building sets, and more stuff, charging 20 bucks for it. Then more than a year later they release 21 new pieces with the same theme as one of the building sets in that DLC.
Because that’s what actually happened, unlike the stuff you’re making up.
They didn’t include the items in the first place because they didn’t create that content back then. And not creating additional content is certainly not called “price gouging”. Maybe look up the terms you’re using, instead of proudly displaying your ignorance and your entitlement.
Nothing was missing. “Missing” implies something that should be there, but isn’t. You know, when people say “this car is missing a door”, it’s because cars usually have doors in certain places. Now go actually look at the new stormglass building pieces, and tell me which DLC had anything similar to those. These are not only completely new stormglass pieces, they’re conceptually new. They introduce new kinds of pieces that didn’t exist in this game before.
And here we come to the crux of the matter. If you had only criticized the elevated price, that would’ve been completely fine. Many of us agree that the Bazaar prices are too high, but we manage to say that without entitled verbal prancing.
Fact of the matter is that they released compelling new content that you really want but don’t want to pay the price they’re asking, and now you’re trying to present that as “price gouging” and “anti-consumer business practices”, just because that new content has the same theme as content you bought more than a year ago.
Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself.
I love the new storm glass set and gladly paid 10 bucks for it. To me this is finally something on the bazaar worth the cost. The previous building sets on the bazaar just had too few pieces in them for me to consider them worth it and most of the other packs I’ve felt the same.
I actually loved both. It’s been ages since I built anything in sandstone. Now I can’t get enough of it. If you mix it with some t2 pices, you can create amazing builds. The stormglass is fantastic, but it’s end game. I only build with it when I’m completely established, for immersion purposes. The new pieces are something else.
I hope they complement all the sets with pieces of such quality design.
Lastly, give us a drawbridge set! 6 different drawbridges we can blend with the current construction sets.
Bazaar is mostly new items though, Mazes, placables, Assets that didn’t exist until they were created for the Store. By your logic, you’re fine spending 10 bucks for half a armor set, and paying another 10 dollars to buy the rest of the armor. Because a Company wants you to fork up twice for something.
Ashamed of myself? Why should i be ashamed of clearly seeing through the BS. Store prices are very high for what you get, and the payment options are terrible. But you should be ashamed of yourself for again defending that you’re fine getting less value for money. I stand by my original point. I have well over 4300 hours in Conan, i’ve bought all of the DLC on launch day because i generally adore this game and have no issues spending money if it means supporting the game when there’s inherent value there.
But i will absolutely not be Supporting anti consumer practices only encourages them next time to charge more for even less. We will probably be charged another 15 dollars for more arena stuff for example. When we already bought the Arena DLC. Only this time you get 6 new pieces of building mats and no armor. And it costs double. And you’ll defend that no doubt like you are defending the stormglass situation.
I’m just not blind to what’s going on. Next we will be paying 10$ for the color Blue on our armor. And the sheep will come out defending it like it’s normal.
See CodeMage - you do get my arguments from a few weeks / months ago pretty well
The new storm glass pieces are new assets.
I’m not sure how you don’t understand that. Or maybe you just refuse to.
Additionally they aren’t even just reskinned pieces, they are entirely different building blocks.
Nah. Its that people just don’t agree with you. Calling people sheep for not agreeing with you is assanine.
If you don’t like the price, vote with your wallet and move on. If people aren’t buying the product because its too expensive then they’ll adjust. If people are buying it anyway then your values are different from those people.
If you want a say in how video game companies operate, put your money where your mouth is and throw up a game studio and charge what you feel to be appropriate prices and make sure you can pay the bills, keep the lights on, pay your staff, etc.
I’ll give you a hint though because I work in the game industry and have my own studio - its so much harder than what people like you make it out to be to do just that - particularly when you are beholden to a publisher If the publisher isn’t making their money - there is no game to whine about on forums about their pricing model in the first place. Especially for optional items that have no impact on the game play and are just things you want but don’t want to pay asking price for.
Cheers.
Well I broke down and bought the pack. I was on the fence for quite some time but nooooo @Wak4863 got his video out and got me looking and thinking and creating without even owning the pieces yet…Sigh. The double doors and the rose window are just …very very nice. Haven’t been able to play with the rest yet.
You better get some kickback, Wak. Damn you (with love of course)
By now you either know what you and I disagreed about, or you don’t. If you still think that what I was criticizing is the same as this topic, then nothing I say here will change your perception
Because you’re making things up, misrepresenting the situation, and generally being dishonest. Is that not enough?
With the new additions Sorcery gave us the option to change the appearance of our clothes and weapons I would like to see an option to apply the T3 build pieces as a skin on to other T1-T2 build pieces or vice versa.
Eg: Ter 1 sandstone with Ter 3 storm glass
appearance or Storm glass with the sandstone look.
For features like this I will happily pay
but DLC add ons I believe should be free to those that already own the DLC.
I do own the Siptah DLC and it didn’t feel right having to buy the additional pieces that should be included with Siptah DLC.
