Suggestion for Battlepass Track to make a Comeback

Not sure if this has already been suggested but one nice solution to bring battlepass tracks back would be to make a tab for them next to DLC.

Bazaar → DLC →Battlepass

Then bring back the battlepass tab.

The main money maker is you sell them for their original price but take the crom coin rewards out.

Let’s face it, we all miss the battlepasses mainly because most of us missed out on a few and some of us just plain old didn’t get to experience it at all. We DO want it back but rather than time limited, we’d like to complete the tracks on our own time. It’d be a good way for the game to make some money as well. I know a few people, myself included, that have no problem paying and playing through a battlepass track for the rewards that we missed out on.

Just something to think about. Trying to make the game more player friendly. Any thoughts or criticism are welcome.

Funcom does not care about anything posted on this forum. They do not pay attention to anything anybody is saying.

Look at the history of posts about the battle pass on this forum. Most of the posts are gripes and complaints. There is also a lot of “I’m not buying it because its a scam!”, though there is no scam. Look at how many negative posts there are about the battle pass on this forum. I purchased all but the first 2 battle passes because I did not have the game when the first two were released. I have also purchased all of the DLC and 90%+ of everything in the Bazaar. I saw a lot of people on here and on reddit whining and complaining about the battle pass as well as protesting it.

Battle Pass is still in the system so it could be re-instated anytime. The problem is Funcom weren’t making a profit from the old Battle Pass so they dropped it.

I too would be happy to pay for each new Battle Pass but logic says that Funcom must have looked into that option as well. Ergo, it hasn’t been re-introduced because no profit can be made from it.

Que sera sera.

A lot of people say they ended the battle pass because it was not profitable. It is possible that that is true, but it is purely speculative.

Funcom’s stated reason for why they ended it was because it was taking away too many development resources that they wanted to use for base game improvements instead. Again, it is possible that they were lying, but that would be purely speculative.

As far as not being able to make profit from bringing it back, I do not see how you could reach such a conclusion. The work has already been done. Any sales of the battle pass if they brought it back would be profit.

So why don’t they? Well, they said they intended to make the old battle pass items available again by some means. How or when was never stated, but as far as we can discern, that is still the pending idea.

What you are saying makes sense. I expect nothing Funcom does with the Bazaar to make sense. I missed the first 2 battle passes because I did not know about the game at that time. I have all of the others and I paid for the full price to unlock all levels for each battle pass I have. If they released the items from the other 2 battle passes I missed, I would buy them all.

Easiest thing would be to just restart the battlepass with the old items. That’s an easy 10 $ from every player that missed even one stage of the battlepass, as it was good value (compared to the cash shop, at least).

But Funcom/Tencent didn’t okay this. So, I guess they plan to release the old battlepass content via the cash shop. Didn’t they do that with some pieces already? Or maybe they just fear that it’ll drive down sales in the shop.

they finally sell it.

Battle Passes generally aren’t profit-making tools, they’re tools for retention. Players buy in, then want to complete it, thus they’ll play more to finish it. It’s also why battle passes in games like CoD are so egregiously grindy. By contrast, Conan’s BP could be completed in around a week or two with optimal strategy. The Bazaar is the main profit-making tool

In Conan’s case, I wouldn’t be surprised if the effort vs result calculation wasn’t really worth it. Making 60 items is probably a fairly time-consuming task for what is a very small team, and a lot of people playing Conan would probably be playing regardless, given where the game was in its life-cycle. There’s no public data to back that up unfortunately, but that’s my suspicion. It’s probably better to use that dev time on making the core game better, or adding more features for everyone

The cash shop apparently got the battlepass stuff added. There’s a whole package that seems to be the stuff from the first battlepass. Can’t see the price, though.

I think they should just make a full store. Instead of a battle pass or even the bizarre. Just have a complete store with everything on it so people can buy anything and everything in their own time. Without having to wait for it to show up. And they should make more DLCs with a lot of this stuff they got. They’re missing out on so much money.

Preaching to the choir

100% agree - saying this for ages..just change the store funcom - please!
And with battlepass items now showing up in the daily rotation too we can wait forever for a single item if we dont want to buy the whole set.
