As is tradition, we are instituting summer decay timers of 20 days instead of 10 on all official servers.
This goes into effect on the next server restarts, but may take up to two restarts to take effect. If after a couple days the timers still aren’t updated, please let us know and we can look into it ASAP.

So rumours of Funcom having been shut down were incorrect? In that case, maybe someone on staff could look into bug reports (which have been ignored for over four weeks)? Perhaps a member of staff could be assigned to some of the Helpshift tickets that have been opened in the past month as well?
I’m sorry if that sounds sarcastic, but being ignored for a month (and then being told that you will ‘look into it ASAP’ if summer timers don’t take effect) can have that sort of result. Are we really supposed to believe anyone will look into anything? How will you receive those reports when you are currently ignoring all reports related to this game?
Honestly, this 20-day summer decay timer might sound great on paper, but for PvP servers, it’s a terrible move. Here’s why:
• People landclaim entire areas, including spots other players are trying to build in. On my server, someone even meshed pieces into walls and now we’re stuck waiting 20 full days for it to decay.
• PvP servers rely on active, rotating bases, not empty shells sitting there untouched for weeks.
• Players already server hop constantly. A shorter decay time forces them to actually commit to a server or lose their stuff. This longer timer just rewards base spamming and abandonment.
• And let’s not ignore that abandoned or glitched bases cause lag — now we get to enjoy that for nearly a month.
This change might make sense for PvE, where people want to keep their decorative castles safe while on vacation. But PvP isn’t PvE — stop treating it like it is.
Funcom, I’m honestly at the point of giving up. You keep adding features PvE players ask for while completely ignoring PvP balance, bugs, and quality-of-life issues. Where’s the focus on raid mechanics, anti-mesh systems, server performance, or actual enforcement against lag switching and booting?
This 20-day decay might be “tradition,” but it’s outdated and harmful for the PvP side of the game. At the very least, give PvP servers an opt-out or separate decay timer.
I have not seen any communication on here regarding patches or twitch drops or much of anything especially since Dune went live.
I don’t expect an announcement every day, but dang, it really looks like they have all left or something for greener pastures ie: Dune lol.
At any rate thanks for the notice about the timers.
Check the admin and developer user groups and see when each user last logged on and were active on the forum. That will tell you all you need to know about how they feel about the game.
The producer’s January letter was lip service and nothing more. Talk is cheap. Actions matter. One patch that fixed as much as it broke, thus needing a hot fix to repair the Living Settlements nobody wanted to begin with.
The radio silence, coupled with player discontent and the actions taken against Firespark and the resulting fallout with Wak are leading to a path Funcom may not be able to come back from. The community is feeling ignored and each week that passes by with no updates makes it feel more and more that Funcom is done with Conan.
