Switching between Legacy and Enhanced - Re-Download/Overwrite

I’m on a modded RP server that will stay on UE4 Legacy until most mods have become available for the UE5 upgrade onto Enhanced…

But i did want to try Enhanced… so i downloaded the 45GB… and when I wanted to switch back to Legacy for going to the server… it downloads 64 GB… and switching back to Enhanced it again downloads 45 GB…

Does it really keep overwriting the whole game?
And the only way to switch between playing on the server and trying out UE5 in Single player … is to download the respective version every time?
Im assuming it’s an issue with the file paths? … but that sucks… can we not keep both on the disc ?

Is there any workaround?

Someone did suggest a workaround - from (rough) memory it was something about manually moving one of the installs to a different filepath, so it won’t then get overwritten by the other. (At a guess you’d probably also need to navigate to that install and directly run the main executable, rather than trying to run it through steam.)

To bad Funcom didn’t do it as ROCKSTAR did it with the GTA 5, which have 2 standalone versions & i have both installed (Legacy & Enhanced)…

Confused about this as well, it would have been a better solution.

This works, you could still add it to steam as a non-steam game from the library menu.
