Sword of Crom Nerfed?

Yeah it sometimes happen that npc’s are pushed into something where you cannot hit them, this can also happen if a npc is pushed into water, makes the fight end with wasted time

Tell you what, this sword is the perfect example of what I’m saying since 6 months now: this game need new people at taking decisions. Actual devs seem not capable anymore.

If devs don’t understand that PVP and PVE should have separate rules and modifiers, than there is no hope for this game to have a future.

Because, let’s say it clear, Archers, Sword of Crom, they have all been nerfed cause some guys ragequitted on some pvp server.

Cause, considering how rare this weapon is, being OP is literally ok on PVE.
Archers … I don’t even want to start talking about how useless they are on PVE …

PVP ? They may be strong … but PVE ? They are useless.

On a Pvp server, you can get it with bombs … just target the big clan of the server

Not all the people playing there understand this appearently, or I don’t really understand why it got nerfed to the point it’s useless !

I strongly object to this nerf. But in this decision also lies opportunity. If thralls can no longer deal damage with it, then buff its damage values and make it a viable player weapon again. Raise its damage back to its original, pre-nerf values of 121. It is supposed to hit hard; it is the Sword of Crom, not the sword of flowers!

Sword should be useable without the stamina drain for those who chose Crom as their religion at character creation and never picked up a religion after the fact.

This.

OR, have it’s stamina drain doubled (compared to a normal Greatsword).
But leaving it as it is atm, is pure madness. That should be the ultimate weapon on CE.

Guardian of the Flame, the Commander, the Watcher, and the Gravewalker all have the same drops.

However, because they have the widest assortment of possible legendaries, the odds of getting the Sword of Crom from any one of them is only 1.3%.

I’ve gotten sword of crom from the wight boss

All legendary’s are useless… for 1-2 exceptions the super rare bow “Reach of the Red Mother” and the rare katana “Musashi’s Black Blade”.
Everything else can just be crafted better or equal with a named thrall (Voidforge bow and Katana perform somewhat the same but they’re not officially available on EL).

At least you can do a record damage with the “CTRL” attack on the Crom’s sword, then you’re stuck for half an hour in the slow animation without stamina, so much fun.

In my opinion legendaries should be better than something you can craft. Right now its useless content.

My bad .he is almost outside the unnamed city. so i didn’t know he was there. So thanks

Honestly, Funcom should make the Sword of Crom (and a few other non-thrall weapons) a toggle button in the server settings.

Funcom wants to make make it useless on the official servers? Fine.

But don’t make that decision for us on our private servers. Give us a switch so that we can turn off thrall-nerf weapons. Nobody asked for this.

Or perhaps they could focus on giving them uncraftable benefits.
The weapons that are also light sources are an example.
Likewise the nearly weightless weapons.
At base they should at least be as good as epic tier weapons crafted by a tier 3 Smith before the fun bits.
For example, the Tulwar of Amir Khurum.
Amir Khurum was a legendary leader, so give the weapon +Follower Damage.
Likewise, the blade is supposedly able to cut through most anything, so give it an extreme level of armour penetration.

At least it can be dismantled now.

You wouldn’t say that if you played on Official Server.
Funcom should change mentality, cause their solutions to every problem is to make cool things useless.

Question: If you attach a blunted weapon fitting on the Sword of Crom, does your thrall still cause knockout damage with it?

I haven’t been able to get one to drop in my current playthrough, so can’t test it myself just yet.

Nope. The way it works is like this. When you first give the Sword of Crom to a thrall they will take one swing with it.

And that’s it.

After that they just stand there holding it like a vegetable, and try to stare down their enemies.

At least my favorite javelin was left untouched: Riptide.

Yeah, chase me into the water. See what happens… while I run away… and hide where your breath meter won’t let you follow…

Riptides counter? Other javelins. Sure i have to go up for air but I can keep throwing stuff at you and you can’t use a potion. You aren’t going to throw Riptide at me.

That’s why I farm winged death for like 50 of them. Then I can throw them :stuck_out_tongue:

I mostly use riptide to flee to the underwater dungeon and hide in the really deep portions of the dungeon lol

Yeah the sunken city dungeon…riptide is a must. I literally get lost in just the scenery down there even now after how many years? Truly a masterpiece of mesh design.
