oh come on, now … i am so done arguing with you
No, just mistaken. I was fairly certain I remembered getting a T2 thrall and the pack expanded how many slots they had for carrying stuff. I just always assumed that was still the case and that it carried over to all of them.
Dragon Bow - no damage modification - 22 damage 9% armor penetration
Serpent-man Arrows - 22 damage 17% armor penetration
T4 Volcano Fighter with 825 hitpoints (hostile) as a target
T4 bearer - 15 damage per arrow
T4 volcano fighter - 24 damage per arrow
T4 sepermeru archer - 23 damage per arrow
T4 volcano archer - 23 damage per arrow
T4 captain - 24 damage per arrow

Fair enough. I believe using the bearer pack as a way to expand their inventory was a suggestion (from me, amongst others) back when bearers only had five slots, low HP and were to all intents and purposes just a worse Fighter. But it never manifested, and instead we had actually useful bearers (and there was much rejoicing!)

I want the William Wallace bearer please
“Yes, I’ve heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he’d consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his @rse.”

I think it’s fine, and still like i saw the bearers.
They shouldn’t be weak, able to selfdefense at first, maybe also help your own defense, but they are not fighters after all.
Players chosed often Katibria for her high HP, but this isn’t the rule for a bearer.
I remember the first bearer in the past, dead more quick than we could ever imagine. Now they’re able to keep safe, help on the road, and carry lot. Nice !

The fact that either of them are 4 times stronger than our own characters is ridiculous in itself. Also the thralls have made animal pets insignificant. I love my wolf but hell I don’t even wanna take him anymore because he can’t Knock out all of sepermeru with a truncheon and he does way less dmg and is way less tanky that even t3 thralls. They should do away with bearer damage, make the back pack have 20 encumber, make fighter animals equivalent to T4 fighters and give all thralls 40 pack space and call it a day. I mean after all the game isn’t even close to balanced so who cares how much you can or can’t carry. It’s the 20 trips recalling home per day that is more dumb than all the carry spaces.
They should give Archers 1 x melee damage. Bearers 1.5 x melee damage, and fighters should have 2 x melee damage. Animals should have 1.5 x melee damage and high status potential.
So a tiger should attack once and cause bleed and sunder. A Panther should attack once and cause two stacks of bleed. A saber tooth should attack more slowly but cause a stack of bleed, sunder, and cripple on every swing, and so on.
Sure, i agree, if you spot only the numbers, you may be troubled.
When i do i feel really weak !
Still wolves are smart, so are sabretooth and other cats. Wolves are really easy to get, and you can have a full pack in few time if you wish. Thralls may take bit more time.
The armours are making the big different between pets and thralls anyway. I wish i could add a real protection on some pets, but this is skelleton related.

Real armor on pets could make them viable companions again. I seem to remember a stream where they hinted at actual armor for elephants and rhinos. It was quick and I don’t remember which one. But if they intend to armor the elephant and rhino one might think they plan to do that for all pets.
