Many people have lamented the missing salamander hatchlings. Or their scarcity. I can attest they are not missing, just badly rendered in the milky murky water.
Please turn on Health Bars. Increase your view distance in your ini file if you want it to be even easier, for testing purposes. Wherever you look for hatchlings, look for the 20-HP bar. Don’t be confused by nearby croc or lizard hatchies, which are also 20 HP.
They are very often in the deeper water around the jungle trees, hung up on a rock. They are so deep in the water that they are otherwise almost invisible.
