Takes too long to close

Why does the game take a full 6-7+ minutes to exit, 1-2+ for the game to “disconnect”, 1-2+ for “running” on Steam even though the game is CLOSED, then another 2-3+ for the background process to end… The “running” and background process taking the same memory as if the game is actually playing…

Shouldn’t have to end task with task manager to completely exit the game…

Have 450 hours “played” via Steam, I’m sure at least 15-20% is actual loading into the game with another 20-30% “exiting” the game… Mods account for load time, but shouldn’t do anything to exit…

That sounds like a problem on your end.

I have a 14 year old computer and from the moment I click “Exit Game” until the ConanSandbox.exe process ends is 1:15, just over a minute. That’s still a long time compared to how long most games take to shut down, but not nearly as long as you’re talking about.

:joy: Of course those are only estimated time… But still… Even when the game crashes still takes too long for the process to end for a crash.

Mine does the same, however my exit time is probably around a minute. For reference, I basically only run the Pippi mod. It’s been like that for as long as I can remember.

No idea why it happens, but a minute isn’t really too bad on my end. If yours is significantly higher, it might be a problem on your end as Pipinghot suggested, though I’ve unfortunately no idea what the problem might be

This bothers me too sometime, such as when I put my PC in standby right after quitting the game and finding the executable still running after waking up (preventing me from starting the game again).

Instead of using the Task Manager, I made a desktop shortcut:
C:\Windows\System32\taskkill.exe /IM ConanSandbox.exe /F

Yea, I had that too… Played for 30 minutes or so before work, “close” the game assuming it would be like normal games and close, before I put the computer into sleep mode, come home 8 hours later to the process still running, cause it didn’t end before I put it in sleep mode.
