Testlive Patch (21.10.2020) - Update 2.1: Economy update, Character re-customization and Family Sharing settings

Cool, can I shave my armpits yet?

Seriously, what’s with the armpit fetish in this game?

And yes, someone over there has an armpit hair fetish. I can change my face, hair, and makeup. But armpit hair? No choice in the matter, you use it whether you like it or not.

How is it you can pick an option for a shaved head but not shaved armpits? Why do I have a bikini wax but not shaved armpits? Why are my armpit hairs longer than my pubes??

(And you can’t say it’s too hard to implement. Mods have been doing it for like 2 years.)

But increase the amount of workbench clutter? Isn’t this just more stuff to cram into our base, just to do the same thing?
Maybe I need to test this one out to truly understand it.

Not cool. I’m already drinking way more yellow lotus potions now that vitality is the only passive regen. Now I’m going to reset my skills whenever I am…

A) harvesting
B) fighting
C) building

PS - Does Isle of Siptah even have a recipe for Potion of Bestial Memory? Because having to relearn my feats every time I drink a yellow lotus potion to reset my attributes isn’t fun, it’s just annoying.

Aren’t you reintroducing the original problem where Black Ice is the most used T3 material because it is so much cheaper?

Black Ice = Go mine it

Hardened Brick = Make Bricks in a furnace.
… Which means you have to make Stone Consolidate.
… … Which means you have to farm Resin (instead of Ichor)
… … … Which means hours of boring grind because you have to chop down tree’s for resin (instead of cooking fish/shellfish for ichor.)
… … … … (And even if Ichor still worked, hours of boring grind because you have to harvest insects to feed the fishies.)

I am chill but its still ok to ask questions dude, its how life works, you question something you ask but here you ask and the community cant let it go they have to do t he whoa chill and crap, its a question , its valid and it was asked of Funcom not you thank you so chill dude and let Funcom answer their own comments. As you are not a dev you have no clue if it will or will not work on live.

They did. As usual they didn’t go into detail of those plans, they just said they were planning on making changes as part of the Economy update (version 2.1)

Funcom has three major updates planned for Siptah. The first would be described and labeled internally as the “Economy update.” Alex said that the idea of the update is to smooth out the player progression through the economy system. He described it as giving players both vertical progression through the economy, and horizontal options at specifically the end-game. This will allow players to much more engage with the Thralls that they collect, while also allowing more precise control of the output of those Thralls. Specifically, Alex says, with regards to the armors and weapons.

Scott adds that they know that Thralls are harder to acquire in Siptah. It’s feedback they have received internally and in the beta. It’s something they want to address, but not by changing the unique gameplay mechanics of Siptah too much. But they would like to approach the haves and have nots, so that it’s not complete feast or famine in terms of being able to access or build things.

You were specifically asking about the DLC. The DLC is not being taken down on live. This is the dev pattern. Almost all TestLive builds have had parts of the DLC disabled during TestLive. They’re not removing it from Conan and never said they were. They just said it does not work on the TestLive build. Your comment of frustration at them is a total misread of their patch notes.

Hey, I’d be on board with you if the DLCs were being removed… I own 2 copies of each. But I’m not pulling out my torch and pitchfork over something that is just not true.

@helium3 did you say it requires iron reinforcement and steel fire to make one steel reinforcement or did I miss read. I am on ps4 so will be awhile to find out Thanks.

Yes. As I understand it, this is one of the recipes that you could acquire from purge blacksmiths.

It appears that this recipe MAY now be available for all T4 blacksmiths.

I have not personally spawned every T4 blacksmith in the game to confirm this, but it seems like a reasonable assumption if the two common T4 blacksmiths from Sepermeru have it.

I tried 3 different T4 blacksmiths that are common in the Exiled Lands last night and they all had the steel reinforcement recipe. This would be a welcome change.

What I was disappointed in was the missing legendary repair kit recipe from the purge blacksmiths. I’m wondering where they moved this recipe to, or if it’s just gone.

Wow a steel fire for each reinforcement that is expensive. Thanks

Doesn’t it work out to be the same cost in terms of steelfire?

Have you checked the tinkerers bench? That’s where repair kits are made now.

@sestus2009 the way I’m looking at it is that’s the steelfire saved from not having to make steel bars to get steel reinforcements - if I understand correctly this is an alternative recipe not a replacement (though I haven’t got round to testing it yet). Given that we’ve already established I’m not quite with it today, I may still be wrong

From what I’ve seen so far on testlive, that’s probably not going to be much of an issue - you still need bark for the tannery, and hitting any tree with iron pick (or above) yields bark and resin, so just stocking up a tannery seems to be building up a decent start on the resin.

It is not a replacement. You can still convert steel bars directly to steel reinforcements. The blacksmith bench allows this at a 2:1 ratio and the improved blacksmith bench allows it at a 1:1 ratio.

Fortunately, getting the Nemedian is surprisingly easy on Siptah. If you play on PVP or PVE-C, that’s a much better option that legendary repair kits. If you play on PVE, it’s still usable for repairs, but not nearly as easy as in other game modes.

They do. They tried communicating about future changes, in advance, once or twice, and guess how that worked out on these forums?

Has anyone else spotted the ‘Weak Aloe Extract’ on testlive? I only spotted it just as I was logging out - but it looks like a ‘handcrafted’ lowest tier aloe potion - not sure what feat opens it (don’t think it was just open by default - but it’s possible I just didn’t notice, since I rarely pay much attention to my default crafting list anyway).
