I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who put time and effort into making the MEGAversary 2 a success. Especially, @HolloPoint for the crazy amount of behind-the-scenes organizing. I’ve said it many times, and I stand by it, the community is what makes this game great. Everyone who helped run the various events, everyone who donated prizes, and everyone who just showed up to participate deserve credit for helping to create an enjoyable event.
As cynical as I’ve been of late about SWL, I’m not going to deny that I had a lot of fun over the past few weeks, culminating in the scavenger hunt earlier today. While failing to come first in our zone is going to haunt me for a while, I had a blast and would encourage more people to give it a try if there’s another one during a future event. I’d also encourage more people to come up with their own ideas for mini-events. Giving back to the community is a rewarding experience.
On a side note, due to burnout, real life stuff, and uncertainty about the future of SWL, I’m going to be taking a break after the anniversary event ends, maybe indefinitely. So, it feels nice to go out on a high note. Thanks again for all the fun over the past few weeks, and the past few years.
Thanks for all your help during the MEGAversary, Nytha! I’m sorry to see you go, but Real Life (two four letter words there!) takes precidence. I hope you’ll be back down the line. Have a good break from the game and, more importantly… be well!
I did not have much time to partecipate to the event this year ( I missed the scavenger hunt too, my favorite one !) but what you and others organized is really impressive, I take the occasion to say a big thanks to all of you !
I really hope this is just a sad joke mate, take your time and then come back, there’s still things you have to do in this game
@HolloPoint Thanks. And yeah, life sure can get in the way of enjoying life sometimes.
@TheAscendingOne Thank you for the kind wishes. I’m really not that kind or smart, I just RP that way sometimes.
@paololov That’s too bad, there was a lot of fun to be had, especially on the hunt. There’s always next year (maybe). Most of my jokes are sad, but this one is for real. I am still missing that elusive NY E10, but I can’t hang around just for that. If nothing else, I’ll try to make it back for Samhain. And maybe I’ll pop in to see Congo whenever it gets finished.
