Except I’m not the one arguing that you shouldn’t be able to do that.

And Im not arguing that you shouldnt rush to the ban button either.

Im saying its easier to mute, and that if you go the way of the ban, it is a bandaid solution to the problem. As solved in the other thread, console players can simply make a new email address and they are back online in a short time, circumventing the ban.

Now imagine someone is toxic in chat, and you successfully report them and they got banned. Those types of people will make a new account solely to come back and troll harder because they know it bothers you enough to get a reaction.

Trust me.

There is a guy in a discord that Im in who is exactly like this. He’s been banned off of nearly 20 discords, countless reddit accounts and twitter accounts becuase hes the toxic troll type. As soon as he gets a ban, boom, new email, and hes back at it. He does it for the laughs at watching people raid.

So, by all means, report away. It wont end the problem.

First of all, you know that’s bullshіt. The OP got banned for what they said in chat – at least, that’s what they claim – and then proceeded to make two threads about that. Pretty much everyone can see through that.

Eh, did they say they got banned in another thread? Sure doesnt here. They never say that they were banned - “Why ban a player…” . If that is referring to themselves, then they did a poor job saying it.

If society was capable of learning that way, Id agree with you. The only problem that I see is that society isnt on a learning curve right now.

I think you’re looking at a too big picture. We’re not trying to condition the whole world here, just a handful of Conan Exiles players. It’s definitely a manageable feat.

Societal changes do happen, but it’s slower and often requires legislation. As long as there’s no law against being a dick, it won’t come quickly enough to help the gaming community.
