I never noticed any datamined posts about the Jeronimo misions. Were those posted in these forums somewhere?
Funcom frowns on that sorta thing so they don’t get posted in that format on the official forum. Just whatever information players could have plausibly found.
Allthough data mining is still always a potential issue it is a large reason why they release content in chunks now I believe. They used to preload a lot of info before a patch but now as was the case with the jeronimo chain they purposely released a few missions during each patch.
Finally got out of class to analyze the tarot cards the buzzing pulled.
The eight of swords upright signifies great hardship that acts as a learning moment. Whether you win or lose, (and most likely, you will lose) you come out of it smarter.
The eight of cups signifies that there is a great disappointment, or other strong negative emotion, you are clinging too. Everything is gloomy inside. You may see no clear way out of your current crappy situation.
The eight of wands, un-reversed, signifies the end of hard times, and a renewal of energy. Reversed, however, signifies that you are stuck in the past, letting a bad mood stick with you. You need to let go, learn from it rather than stewing in it like you are now.
And finally, the “jumper,” the Hermit. (Unsure what jumper means here, in terms of the spread. I wonder if it means something specific in the upcoming story content? Maybe ‘jumper’ here refers to someone who commits suicide, and the previous cards are a window into the reason why?) This card suggests that you could be better off withdrawing from other people, and looking within for answers. Stopping to review our own actions and decisions is a good way to grow as people. The card could also represent someone in your life who has withdrawn, and says that it is time to reach out and remind them that, while seclusion is sometimes necessary, excessive amounts can be damaging. (Also, this card reversed can mean that you are that person, and that you need to pull yourself out of seclusion, as it has become damaging.)
Looking back at these, i think that the Hermit is a specific character, and that the three 8 cards represent, in chronological order, an event and their reactions to it. Rather than learning from a failure that should have been a learning moment, they stew in their negative feelings, likely failure and self-hatred. They pull themself away from other people who might be able to help, and suffer greatly for it. Looking at it now, ‘jumper’ might mean that this person has, or might in the future, commit suicide. It might also reference the jump pads in the new trailer.
And, what with this new content being a dark potential future, I think our job is to learn where this Hermit character hasn’t, and help them out of this rut, before their decisions made in a bad funk lead to the dark future.
(Although this is all very wild speculation. Feel free to poke holes in this where you see fit.)
Think on the Twitterverse folks identified a ‘jumper’ as a card that leaps randomly out from a pack.
Ahhhhhhh I see. This could change the meaning of the overall spread significantly. (It also might not. The jumper might still be the person the three previous cards are referring too, but it could also represent someone else.)
I’m pretty inexperienced with tarot. Would like to see someone who understands this better than me pick up trying to interpret it.
(Of course, I suspect everything will be revealed when Dark Agartha goes live.)
‘The Filth’ is a collective noun, to cover all the manifested strains.
In America it’s related to the fog. In the Middle East to groundwater and in Asia is related to sound waves. This difference is possibly the result of being associated with different Dreamers; e.g. the Blue Mountain serpent / Aten.
However the radiation bred fungus of Transylvania and the Kaidan docks appears to be different from the others in that it is a new strain for the 4th Age and is not ‘entirely friendly to the Filth of the “normal” strains’.
It could be that there is a separate Dreamer responsible for Dark Agartha, one that is much more aggressive than the others.
I haven’t completed the agent mission chain yet, but I don’t mind being in the, ahem, dark, about it, as it’ll all proc eventually, and the Dark Agartha stuff seems a bit wibbly wobbly timey wimey anyhow. Plus there’s still just shy of a fortnight to go.
