Thank you very much @Multigun
And sorry for my misinformation.
I wrote something really stupid there.
If I had to guess the theme for the dlc based off current available info, I’d say Stygian as the real life Siptah was the penultimate ruler of Egypt’s 19th Dynasty
Ah okay. Glad you can still play.
Totally hyped. I hear it is a new map.
And to all the Funcom haters, Crom does NOT listen to the prayers of the weak.
I’ll join mah-boi Mek-Kamoses and raise an army.
“will probably not happen” perhaps?
I do agree tho, but…
Since this tencent thing there seems to be rigourous changes.
I dont know if the , tho be it- fragile connection (most)users inhere had with the FC devs will be the same.
Sooo the opposite extreme being having some level of new content while bugs are being fixed? Doesnt sound that extreme to me.
So basically an educated guess then. In other words neither of us can say for absolute certain.
CodeMage I could continue on critiquing your post and finding fault but I wont. Instead I will just say this. You completely missed the take home point of my post. Hint: it is not about how gaming companies function.
really tho? so would you take back your car to a mechanic who keeps messing it up every time he touches it so he can improve??? What a weird logic
I really don’t care what negative people have to say. I have sunk a ton of hours into Conan, run a private server, have a good group that has played with me off & on for the past three years now. I’m ready for new DLC and ready for a new map and place to explore.
No game that I’ve played has zero bugs and the bugs that exist right now don’t ruin the game for me. I’ve enjoyed the hell out of my experience.
So bring forth the new area to conquer.
Sorry, I should’ve been more explicit at that point. I was referring to this:
So, one extreme is “bugfixing is impossible because of new content” and the other is “new content has no impact on bugfixing”. The truth, as always, is in the middle.
Sure, if you’re looking for absolute certainty. If you’re willing to settle for less than absolute certainty, then an “educated guess” with an in-depth explanation isn’t too bad
I didn’t. Maybe it’s not entirely obvious, but my reply to you wasn’t aimed at your whole post. I’m simply correcting a claim about something that has already polarized this community quite a lot. Maybe next time I do that, I should explicitly explain it at the beginning.
As for your key takeaway, I understood it – I just didn’t want to engage with it at all. Yeah, I get it and I agree with you up to a certain point: if the game makes someone really bitter, then maybe it’s better for them to let it go.
And yeah, even though the thread looks like an invitation to give our honest opinions, it really was meant as a “holy-crap-I’m-so-hyped-let’s-all-squee-together” celebration. Anyone with an emotional range broader than a teaspoon should be able to understand that and have enough empathy not to rain on everyone’s parade in it.
Or, since they say a picture is worth a thousand words:
Problem is, these forums have turned into a mirror of the real-world political landscape everywhere: there are people in one group, there are people in another group, and they keep bashing each other and making it miserable for a small minority who wishes a plague on both their houses.
For every thread where you get frustrated players “whining and trolling”, you also have a thread where someone complains about their perception of the quality of the game and a bunch of other people jump down their throat and call them names.
It gets to the point where sometimes it’s necessary to send a different message:
But both of those messages end up falling on deaf ears. As a result, many nice people you and I both know have slowly been quitting these forums.
Same could be said about those sitting in the parking lot complaining about their car being messed up, instead of taking it to another mechanic and getting on with their lives.
Pointing out the problem after you paid for something or asking to be fixed is not the same as keep going back, your logic is ludicrous. Please think before you speak
For three years? That’s not logic, that’s insanity. Buy hey, that’s what the current gen derives fun out of isn’t it?
It’s not about a car, it’s about a game that needs money to develop.
But we can also relate that to a car, what do you think a car costs (only in the development phase) more than 1mio! Why is that because you don’t build the perfect car right away.
Agreed. The devs have created a great game here. Instantly addicting. Honestly THE best game I have ever played, I can’t put it down. But still it crashes literally every 30 minutes for me (approximately). It gets so bad my Xbox will turn itself off sometimes. The host servers are poop, more than a few people in one fight and the server can’t seem to synchronize them all. The fact that the textures are streamed from an external source can’t possibly be good for the gameplay either, at least I would think not, proverbially just another hand in the pot. I get it that it was probably more cost effective and therefore the right move from a business stand point. The programmers/coders (whatever the correct term is) they definitely deserve to be paid, IMO given a raise, this is a great game. So I can only presume, based on what I’ve read so far , that biggest problem is the mismanagement of resources. One team fixing one team making new content? Gimme a fkn break. You could double the manpower on the repair end, and effectively decrease the workload of those guys ( who appear to get the smelly end of the stick) and then after the fixes are made you’d have double the manpower to bang out the new content. But no it would appear you just keep putting out content to get the money , the content is flawed and needs much problems addressed so it gets dumped into the repair teams already endless “to do” list. Meanwhile the game keeps getting worse for the average player so naturally the forums are ablaze with misplaced anger and frustration which in turn trickles right on down the ladder to the repair team who can’t fix faster than the devs seem to be able to break it. That repair team deserves more money and resources and the development team needs to just slow the fk down and thoroughly test the content better rather than just keep pushing out more broken content. One could call it accountability.
This car is been out 3 years it is not development phase, if it is they should put it in the TOS so when you about to purchase it at least you aware of it, your logic is flaw in so many ways.
But hey keep paying good for you
Why do you assume everyone who is ‘‘whining’’ playing this game since day one?
You don’t seem to see the difference between asking for the goods/service I/we paid for, and asking unrealistic stupid things to be fixed. You put all whiners into one category. Very narrow minded person, we are not all the same.
You have a very weird logic bro, im asking you again please think before you speak
I’m excited, but with all the raging that tends to go on here every time the subject of the new map (which I’m pretty sure this is) comes up I’m finding it hard to come on here and discuss it. My life has enough negativity already.
