Guys, is it just my traps that have started producing less fish lately? This turns out to be less than half the original number of insects. Now I have loaded 606 insects, and the output were 271 fish (in total). And this happens all the time now, although previously there was always one fish per insect.
Is this a glitch or a new trend in Conan fishing?
Thanks.
Does the insects decay faster than before in fish traps? Can you check it? I will check it on PlayStation too and iāll let you know.
I never bothered using fish traps after they nerfed them.
My crafting speed is set to high in my settings, so I canāt say that, they donāt have time to decay in traps.
I watched its work. After the countdown of the next timer ends in the lower right, a fish may or may not appear in the trapās inventory.
I hadnt used fish traps in a LONG time, but thats because i havent really been capturing and leveling thralls, but now setting up huge archer squads for purges has turned me into a fish monger, as the small blue fish is the best agility boost food you can get when leveling Agility in thralls. And yes you are correct ive notice if i put like 50+ bugs in the yield is like 20+ fish, so either they built a āfail rateā into it in recent update or its just another bug to add to the list. (oh and by the way im on an official server)
Strangely - I checked on my game and I canāt see any evidence that Iām getting fewer fish than before. (Singleplayer, if that makes a difference somehow) Iām using fat grubs as bait, and I still seem to get the full yield. Iāll try to remember to throw some bugs in next time in case the bait is the change.
I think they should just copy Savage Wildsā fishing system. You use a tool on fishing nodes, like any other gathering node. The tool SW uses is the javelin that you just āattackā the node with the melee attack.
I use grubs all the time - insects if i got some in my pocket.
I tried fishing with them and got the same result. I loaded 50 fat grubs into the trap and got 19 fish.
Thatās really odd. I wonder if having mods (that donāt do anything to fishing) is somehow āprotectingā me. Iāll try setting up an unmodded world and give it a go.
Mods shouldnāt have any effect on this mechanic at all, if I understand correctly.
That was my thought as well. But I might as well test it so we can rule it out completely. My best guess would be maybe because Iām on singleplayer - although all these things should work the same on singleplayer as on server
Ps version and I noticed the fish crafting cycle doesnāt always bring a fish. I watched it go down in the crafting of a fish and it didnāt create a fish.
This maybe an attempt to balance the oil production increase now but I donāt remember it in the patch notes
Server influence can be significant, and this is what often makes the game difficult and confusing. In this case, we are both playing a single player game, this is the purest version of the game, the influence of the server is excluded, so the fact that the same game mechanics gives us different results looks especially mysterious.
This is a strange reason, because⦠Oil is much easier and cheaper to obtain from seeds.
I think Iāve solved it -
just ran some tests in a clean singleplayer save - with bees, insects or fat grubs in a basic fish trap I am now losing some of the harvest. (Although, grubs do seem to be doing best, but that may be coincidence.)
In advanced fish traps (the ones crafted with dagon scales) I appear to be getting full harvests with all baits.
My old save was old enough, I realised I was probably using advanced fish traps and had just forgotten - so thatās where the difference must have been.
It does present another explanation - it may be intended as a way to make advanced fish traps more worthwhile, given that the fish buffs no longer stack.
I myself have never used improved traps, there was simply no need. Now I will know and use it if necessary.
