And a lot of people are seeming to reach the end of their patience. I really hope that someone from Funcom is on that reddit, and sees the mounting frustration inside their fanbase.

I’m sure they are aware of the displeasure. People have voiced it loud and clear.

You know why the silence? Because at this point, breaking the silence is going to do no good. If you send a negotiator to stop a rioting mob who are breaking windows and setting fire to stores, the mob won’t stop to listen, they’d just tear him to pieces.

That’s what’s going on on the Internet now. People have agitated themselves into such a state of frenzy that nothing the game developers could say is going to be heard. It might even provoke further hostility.

Interesting thread on that link. Shows how some people really feel when they’re not being censored or bashed.

Pretty similar to what I see on these forums every day. The thing is, a group of people who are already upset or angry can quickly agitate each other into a frenzy, which is why some moderation is actually a good thing. Voicing negative opinions is okay. Starting a riot is not.
