The last time I felt ignored

So I’m determined to keep bringing this up…but first I want to share my own character bio.
Ula is known as the “Darfari Reject”. Tired of ALWAYS eating people, she was caught eating honey and berries and was immediately cast out. Long story short, she is now stranded on the Isle of Siptah. She only wants to share all the wonderful things she’s eating in the world with her people.
Now that was totally unnecessary but I say all that to say this…It would be nice to have more variety when it comes to Darfari armor and weapons, maybe even some decorative pieces.
I understand that Darfari have a bit of a connection with old African tribes in the real world… maybe that connection makes it possibly a racial issue. I’m an African-American so if there are problems you can blame Uncle Willie :joy:
Anyways still enjoying the game… anticipating the next update and keeping my fingers crossed for some Darfari upgrades in the future… keep up the good work Funcom.

I don’t see what racial issues could come from your suggestion, @UncleWillie56 .
More Darfari and African themed stuff would be welcome. The Darfaris have ONE armor. No variations. I would like to see a medium and heavy Darfari armor at least. And I want those tents they have to use as a sleeping bag!

Well I know people that get sensitive about things like that. African based tribes being depicted as half naked cannibals. But at the end of the day it’s just a game. I mean GTA has probably the worst stereotypes in all of gaming. I’m just looking for some variety in my little roleplaying world.
I would also love to see some styles of Native Americans as well…

There’s a Dafari Armor set on Siptah that is RNG from collecting Schematic Fragments. “Cannibal something”

I use it as a skin for all of my Southern Surge thralls.

Those people need to get a life!
If they really want to help, I can think of a number of organizations where they can enroll.
Those Darfaris aren’t a real tribe. And let it be said that on the EL, everyone is batshit crazy! Not a single faction escapes.

It’s the same armor with different properties, if I am not mistaken. What you have on Siptah are some very cool Darfari like (demonic amazons if I am not mistaken) crafters. Those are themed properly.

It’s also in the Schematic Fragment pool of recipes.

Which, as you can see, is the same armor with different properties. It’s not even a reskin.

No problem at all on the contrary, joy only!
Darfari represent one of the strongest tribe of human kind.
However the strength will never be defined from the color of any skin… That’s why years now i ask for stronger Darfari and Siptah brought me this pleasure.
Then again, breast size. I know it sounds corky, but this wasn’t the reason at all. I find it completely unfair women from this tribe not to be as “milky” as other tribes and colors. So after all these years we finally have “milky” Darfari women as well, congratulations and thank you devs for this correct choice.
Armors and shelters!
This is the final piece and the most challenging i guess.
Why!
It’s the nature environmental style that’s making it so difficult.
So the pict dlc (savage frontier) made a magnificent effort, but it doesn’t seem Cannibal-ish.
The Kambugian shaman armor seemed to be oriented to this direction or from this direction, take it as you wish.
But we expect Darfaris to be always almost naked with the most part of the body to be uncovered.
Then we don’t expect Darfaris to live to anything else than tents.
Yet we’ve seen that they could carve granite in a way that today’s technology cannot! Go figure.
So it’s very difficult to represent something you didn’t fully understand, thats still remains mystery after all this time. Then the lore is not the history of each nation but the fantasy of novel writers.
So it’s very difficult to create something “more”, but we wish it nonetheless. These devs have made miracles with their creativity and imagination, they love challenges and i am 100% positive that they will find a way to amaze us once more.
So you have my vote @UncleWillie56 100%.

Ps. There is a “Darfari” dancer set in bazzar, but it looks more Hawaiian to me than Darfari.

I think more could be done with the Black kingdoms. I would love to see Kush represented.

Oh? I missed that one. Never saw it.
I have to pay attention to see if it comes back.

At the time REH was writing Conan in the 1930s, cannibalistic tribes being discovered in the Congo was in the news. The Darfari were based on these stories. But these stories were not racist stereotypes of their time, they were actually true.

There is obviously some real life mixed in with the fantasy. There seems to be representation of all of the worlds past cultures mixed into the Exiled Lands…and that makes it so much better than fantasy style games I’ve played, which tend to focus heavily on European style more than anything…you also see a lot of Egyptian and Asian cultures.

“And the Victor is the one who was right all along”

History is written from “Victor”.
This is far from the true story.

Cannibalism in the Congo, particularly in the late 1800s and into the mid 1900s, is pretty well known and documented. It isn’t some fabrication of the “victors.”

Well I’m pretty sure every culture has some history of cannibalism at some point in time.
