The Legacy of the Giant King Dungeon – The Worst Dungeon Ever

If you’ve tried the new dungeon, you’ll see just how terrible it is. It looks huge on the outside, yet it’s totally empty inside. There are barely any treasure chests. No new recipes or knowledge to unlock at all. Its only purpose is repairing legendary gear.

If you’re going to spend time farming materials in this dungeon just to repair your legendary equipment, you’re far better off activating the Waves to farm plenty of new legendary weapons — it’s way more efficient. What’s more, the weapon and armor models dropped by the boss look absolutely hideous. I can safely say this is the worst dungeon in the entire history of Conan Exiles.

This dungeon is awful.

It’s huge, labyrinthine, and for nothing, because it’s mostly empty, with a few very generic foes and no recipes nor lore.

If you fail to dodge one of the final boss’ attacks, you’re basically dead - either because it one shots you, or because it staggers you and the next attack is undodgeable and finishes you.

When you die, you spawn back to the entrance, so basically, if you often get lost in huge spaces like I do, by the time you return, your body’s gone, and on top of that, the boss’ HP resets, but your followers’ do not. I lost two lv20 aesir warriors with optimal perks, warmaker-enhanced legendary weapons and perfected heavy sets.

And the reward ? You get to repair legendary weapons, BUT you’ll have to go through the whole dungeon everytime ! Why bother ? It’s much easier to farm new legendary weapons…

As usual, the reward is far from worth the effort, and the boss only has a few different patterns, the low number of which is compensated by how fast and hard it hits, while bypassing it with letting your thralls do the job while you chill on the side with a mask is the easiest way - and the most boring, but the other option is going dark souls mode and I just don’t have the time to trial and error and find my damn way back to the boss everytime I fail to dodge ONE hit.

I was a bit hyped, and now I’m reminded of why I hadn’t been for so long - everything they do is so poorly balanced it’s just not worth doing. Honestly SAD about it, because it feels like Sunken City / Wine Cave all over again, so my hopes are collapsing once again for the future of this game.

I kinda love it ? It just needs tweaking … and more/better rewards . But it is well done !

Well, 2 days in and ive got 22 blademasters , 2 anvil weapons, 1 piece of anvil armor, 22 legendary frags and experience taking down the main boss and his pet dragon.

Its a good dungeon as i have to pay attention when i play so yeah it gets thumbs up from me.

Totally awful in its current state. Devs should know that thrall pathfinding is horrible, hell, the aliens in Space Invaders have better pathfinding skills that the thralls in Conan. Yet, it’s shock full of areas where thralls fail to follow leaving you to fend enemies for yourself once you’ve climbed walls and obstacles. Chests with subpar loot does not make players want to explore. There’s no new recipe to learn anywhere and boss fights are not balanced. I lost two good fully levelled thralls because of bugs (thralls sinking mid-waist and remaining immobile while getting pummelled to a pulp). To make matters worst, for me, the end boss doesn’t show up 2 times out of 3, forcing me to backtrack all the way to the entrance in order to get out of that Crom forsaken place. Two times the end boss went god mode and my thralls and myself couldn’t beat him. I had to remove my bracelet because of course you can’t get out of the arena.

Skill issue, have ran it it about 10 times now and it just gets easier and easier. 2 zerkers nothing special just practice it and figure it out.

Wolfmen Sigil- Restore 20 HP per kill. Siptah is now on sale.

good for you. Nothing from your list screams, do that dungeon again, to me. It is mediocre loot for the effort and the dungeon is just too empty.
I see it as a missed opportunity, compare it to the wine cellar (which has other issues), where you get rewarded for exploration with drops like the Khari skins from minibosses and suc

Only part one here, yet everyone expects what exactly?

Your going back to learn it.

Loot is secondary. I have loot. I have the best gear in the game minus anvil sets.

I want it to repair my legendaries without it being given to me.

I need to earn it.

To do that , i need to learn the new dungeon.

Thats why im going back.

To add some speculation… While the armor set is a bit underwhelming stat wise there is the possibility that it can be upgraded, or enhanced if you prefer, later on in the story arc.

Maybe even learn the recipe for it at some point so thrall bonuses can be applied.

Wonder if anyone has tried delving it? Or I’ll give it a try next time I log in.

Again, why would I go through all that hassle just to repair legendaries? The 2 Bosses, where one drops gold coins and the other some armor and weapons, that have high values but questionable stats?
The only thing is getting a high dps Thrall, apart from that, it is a big cave of nothing.
Look at warmaker ore wine cellar, so much stuff to do in there, so many things to find. It just doesn’t compare, I meight go back to get a couple of the Thralls and some of the statues, but that is it.
That is not how a dopamine loop works. You want to find something special, hell could be even some special buffed food or potions, doesn’t need something big, but the uninspired loot tables of the relic hunters just don’t measure up.
If you are fine of doing the challenge for challenges sake, that is fine, from a game design perspective, this dungeon is deeply flawed and boring

That is actually an interesting thought, do let us know what you got out of it

i just tried one time, and wheni understood what it was, bye bye and will probably never venture in it again unless this dungeon is rethink. i mean wine ceilar dungeon still my fav, had fun with dark drag, had fun with kurak, but this one hum not for me.

So they made a dungeon that allows you to repair your legendary gear?

And it’s difficult?

Well done Funcom!

But next time fix one that doesn’t allow thralls, please!

Thralls are the only reason i play.

They do what they are told.

Otherwise ill go play Soulmask

Meanwhile ,there are two legendary chests to left and right at the exit after you kill him.

Got the chest piece using two Blademasters with legendary brittle maces and Epic Guardian Armor

Play whatever you wish m8 . Having no thralls in a dungeon wouldn’t hurt you, in the contrary, it would finally benefit you  .

Dude - i played this game for 3 years without thralls. Fun because i was with someone else- Boring alone.
