Thanks, I already figured it out. The fact is that they simply do not have time to react to the flickering of one and a half dozen mobs in close proximity to them and under their feet. But they work great for approaching or receding targets.

It seems like a lot of people believe this method to be unfair or cheesing. If you make the room large enough (this one is 16x16) you can do the same thing with a slightly better result since they will never be kited into the enemy camp. I’m sure you’re very worried about my pillars, don’t be. Theres also another method you can do in the volcano where you just summon them into lava and they basically instantly die… if what I’m doing is cheating that damn sure is :stuck_out_tongue:

All 7 thralls in this screen shot are Lians admin boosted to 20, no perk rerolls, admin spawned in epic gear with bulked platings and Nortis + Master Weapon fitting.

its not even rewarding spawn LV X like 50times+ already the only reward you get are potions golds and silver thralls in cage are garbage the npc shop sell garbage banners and random stuff that are so easy to get and he ask for so much gold for it.
atleast put better thralls on the cage instead and make loot better by levels lv 1 raid vs lv10 you only see increase on amount in coins and more furniture eggs and ■■■■■ and weapons and more armor you that are damaged you wont even wear because it has terrible stats.

To be fair you can get Cannibal Brute (Level 1-2) and Dalinsia (8-10) from them which are the best two thralls in the game depending on if you value very high raw strength or a just above average strength with above average HP.

Getting Dalinsias is much easier though as tier 8 purges have way more cages. But that does make thralls like the Cannibal Brute and Lian obtainable on Siptah. You’re just gonna have to break bond with around 100 dancers and 50 bearers before you get anything of value out of them.

On my old server the Alpha used to do this. He/they were reported, got warned, and then left the server. As far as I know this is an old method that still hasn’t been patched out, yet it’s something that can get one a warning or a ban. That’s what I take from it.

But that’s just the thing with this new purge. Thralls like the two you have mentioned can already be found in the open world. You don’t need to spawn a purge to find them.

It used to be that (most) purge-only thralls were unique. Could not be found in the open world. And they had better specs to match their uniqueness.

You still do get purge-only thralls but for obvious reason you can’t get purge only BENCH thralls.

seems very unreasonable to expose bet +100k worth in treasures, just to get a bunch of cauldrons, shelves and not even 100 consolidated bricks… wouldnt you say?

On top of it, as @Wak4863 already displayed it… the only novelty u get as a reward are 6 schematics and a bunch of old T4s that are not even that strong, or stronger from what u could get in game.

All in all, i can show apreciation for the new purge mechanic, but as the OP stated, this fun is running out and its been barely 2 weeks.

This is the reason I made the suggestion that I did. The idea is the Purge is a system a player could use if they just want to login for about half an hour and get ‘something’ done.

Let’s look at a typical gameplay loop we all engage in. You login and kind of take a look around and see if you are needing something. Or you might already have an idea of what you want. Maybe you want some stone and wood to replenish some stocks after building something. Maybe you need some gold and silver. Maybe you need demon blood or lotus of some form.

So you get ready, get your mount ready, and a follower of some sort to help keep things off you or to help carry loads. Then you head out. Even with some transportory stones or maproom you’re looking at 5’s of minutes to prep, travel and begin.

If you only have a half an hour, you’re not going to be getting very much. In many cases you’re better off not even bothering. But with the purge… you can get more from doing 2-3 purges than you could in an equal amount of time of doing it the ‘normal’ way.

Of course if you have more time to devote to the normal way like 2-3 hours, then it is going to be far more efficient as the time spent traveling is a much smaller part of the experience. So a purge wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) replace the normal gameplay loop.

Now if the purge is really only effective in short stints, it becomes a fun distraction from the rest of the game. Even if you have several hours to play, you can break up some of that with a few purges for some choice materials. Like for example if you want Hardened Bricks and only need around 300 for building a crafting station. Then doing a purge and choosing (using my suggestion a few comments back) building materials, you can get them instantly.

Now doing a few purges and getting only a few hundred bricks isn’t efficient enough to build a 10,000 T3 base. So you wouldn’t want to do purges for that. But for a simple T3 crafting station, it would be perfect.

This would help with the purges getting stale and provide a much needed niche gameplay experience that Conan Exiles has been lacking. I don’t know if this was the original intent for the purge or not, but IMO it could work very well for that.

But as it stands now, as a game mechanic and gameplay loop in its own to compete with rather than compliment other systems… it will fail miserably. So I think the idea of it complimenting other systems rather than being its own ‘thing’ should be perused.

Its a minor distraction. Let’s build off of that.

All of this is showing a need for wipes because purges are basically end game time killers for a clan that already has everything it needs and is trying to figure out what’s left to do. If you wipe servers, then you start fresh after a period of time and it takes a lot longer to get bored since you got so many options while building your empire. No two kingdom should be the same unless you are PvP and even then…come on change it up just for fun.

I’m pretty certain a wipe wouldn’t help in this case. The concept alone doesn’t lend well to sustained gameplay loops on its own.

i came back a month ago… fresh start, so i know for a fact that a wipe wont make a difference, if anything, a lot of ranting… dont know why would u suggest “wipe servers”.

Yeah exactly.
Almost anything in most games can be cheesed or a weak-point expoloited. We’re taking it as confirmed that Obsidious is playing on an Official server and without mods of any kind.
The new Purge is designed to make Purges player-generated and (possibly) more fun. Most have already seen the Community stream max-level Purge (e.g. https://youtu.be/HTWI_D2st_o?si=FjJqcAy4fIq8MBRy) Huge fun, a number of deaths and shenanigans.
If I build a base carefully and keep the treasure room in a particular place then I can certainly make the purge amazingly easier to protect from and mow through. Of course, should I not want the rewards and fun of the new Purge then I just simply never activate it for either myself, solo, or in a clan.
The new Purge is to add a chance of more fun to the game - and I think it does that.
(I do think we will see further tweaks and changes to the Purge and when siege machinery arrives next update then Yikes)

This is not a MMORPG, and I think this is something people often forget.

I have a blast with the new purge. Even dare say it is addictive once you tweak things.

Anything in this game regarding level of difficulty is Sandbox. You want “storymode” ? Admin and set God. You want the hardest it can be, set up the damage and recup accordingly. Wanna some strategy change, build the base in the middle of a large expanse of open field in which you can attacked from anywhere.

This game is not a theme park, it is a sandbox. It is not the game that has to impose to you “metagame” and it is not a game to someone keep forums saying “oh, I beat level X, at Y place, in Z time”. It is a game in which you do whatever you want and set your own objectives. A Sandbox game by definition.

I mod the game to do certain things, but even without any mods, there are plenty things to set up and enjoy a very challenging or demanding gameplay if you want to. But the game doesnt and shouldnt establish “measuring sticks” with which all players must be compared by.

I use a permadeath mod. It is a convenience thing. You can “enable permadeath” by simply opening the menu and choosing recreate character should you die. Why should the game force -everyone- to ? This is just an example, but anything you can make more insteresting on your own. The game offers the model of gameplay, not the “how hard it is”.

If it is easy, odds are the player is making it easy indulging in the tools it allow for that to be easy.

crank up damage, change the speed, and resources, which is what most MMORPG do across the board to “make them competitive”, and I doubt you will be “this is easy” around.

I assure you the game is easy no matter what you do because the AI is awful.

Cranking up enemy damage and boss HP does nothing but make the fight take longer. The enemies are still exactly the same, with the same movesets and the same flaws.

Heck he didn’t even figure out the “cheat code” until his fight with the midnight grove boss. Literally just hold A or D guys…
