The "sale" in the Black Lotus Bazaar

Edit: I have been informed by the lovely arguments in this post that this is in fact a BUNDLE. A bundle for things you may be waiting upwards of 4 months to get as an individual item. God forbid you miss that window though.

Perfect post for the abomination thread, pity itā€™s going to be lost fast.
Nice one m8 :+1:t6:

Seeing how a couple of things from the bundles have also reached the Bazaar as single items, thereā€™s a chance that the ā€œsaleā€ is just the discount for buying everything as a pack. So yeah, ā€œsaleā€ might be a bit of a misnomer here.

its actually kind of funny its illegal to do what they are doing in many European countries because these things havenā€™t been sold at their ā€œregular priceā€ for long enough yet.

I have seen that referenced before and i would like to know the specific law. It doesnā€™t make sense that the EU law would prohibit grand opening sales.

Are they grand opening sales though? Or are they justā€¦ later price increases?

There isnā€™t any sales on the Bazaar. The slashed prices are the price of the items in the listed bundle as if you were to buy each item individually. The unslashed price is the bundled price. Thereā€™s no law being broken unless youā€™re not allowed to offer bundles for goods and services out of the gate when offering them.

Its like buying a combo meal at a fast food place. Iā€™ve never heard of such things being forced to sell ala carte for each new item offered.

By the way Funcom is aware that this information isnā€™t very apparent. Theyā€™ll likely have an update in the future to make this a bit more clear.

Except combos arent ā€œon saleā€ though.

Didnā€™t say they were. None of the items on the Bazaar is ā€˜on saleā€™.

Thats the joke. Its called on sale, even though like you explained, they are bundles. Cheaper in a group isnt really a sale.

1.3
Introductory offers, after-sale or after-promotion prices
Introductory Offers
1.3.1. Do not call a promotion an introductory offer unless you intend to continue to offer the same product for sale at the same outlet after the offer period is over and to do so at a higher price.

1.3.2. Do not allow an offer to run on so long that it becomes misleading to describe it as an introductory or other special offer. What is a reasonable period will depend on the circumstances (but, depending on the shelf-life of the product, it is likely to be a matter of weeks, not months). An offer is unlikely to be misleading if you state the date the offer will end and keep to it. If you then extend the offer period, make it clear that you have done so

This all is pretty irrelevant as there is no sale going on in the bazaar. We likely wonā€™t see sales until the interface has the ability for us to see all the items it offers.

No where is it explicitly stated that it is an introductory offer, it is using the universally understood symbol of a slashed line to mean the price has been slashed down.

Still not a sale.

I thought the prices shown were discounted based on an introductory rate and this is what I was told:

ā€œItā€™s not a ā€œsaleā€, itā€™s the principle of a bundle. A bundle always comes at a lower price than if you purchase all items one by one.ā€

I was then told there would be single items coming later and that sales would come some time after that. Youā€™ll notice single items do not have their prices slashed.

No where on the reg does it say that is required.

Just as clearly as the slash means sale price, you can assume a store that has only been open for 2 months means these sales are introductory.
