Reduce or remove loot obtained from killed mobs, there is so much of it that there is nowhere to put it, everything is too easy to get!!!
Oh I would dearly love to have a crack at rewriting the loot tables.
Need to have pocket items. coin, lucky charms, god tokens, maybe wraps or aloe.
On person. Weapons and armors, jewlery.
Pack items, food, tools, dyes, skins, water skins, potions. You know things that would fit in a book bag.
Chest items. Here is where you find paintings, ornaments, stuff animals, mounted heads ect big items.
Like to see carts added to the game that have bulk items to loot, like bearer loot.
But what we have now makes little to no sense. When I loot some one and find a figure it aught to be a pocket sized figurine not a statue bigger then the person I looted it form.
Between exile lands and Siptah the loot tables are again different. Siptah is far more wealthy with not necessarily stronger opponents!
Loot is giving motivation, so reducing the loot you just make the “hunt” not interesting anymore.
If rng returns to what it was the game will be more frustrating again, so i declare happy with this rng. The previous rng was for hard-core players only, regular players would spend months to get something.
I do agree to this part…
Yes, but it’s not the loot that seems to be the problem.
Good loot is always welcome and makes the game far more pleasant.
The issue here is how to gain good loot.
There for, people should gain better loot after a flawless fight and worst loot after an average fight.
Although i believe that in a way this happens right now, because when i do “impossible” fights in this game and whenever i do i gain really rare items, i believe that’s a fools observation most, than a fact actually. For example last time i fist fight to death with Szeth, i was only lvl 20 and in the end i got the truncheon. I fist fight red Mother (yea i know omg) and i took God’s eye which is by far the most rare drop of this beast in my 9kh experience!
So allow me to disagree that good loot tables are bad for the game. Being a hoarder is a bad way to play so learn to control it i say!
You know that you don’t have to pick everything up. With a little will power you can just leave stuff you don’t need on your enemies corpses. It saves a lot of time when you get back to base and put stuff up.
Ya, but if it goes in the dismantling bench
Personally I would like to see loot incorporate some aspects of the humanoid NPCs profession. For example:
-
Cook- could have some or all of the following items: some cooked food, water or alcohol, salt, spices, mushrooms, a cup or plate, etc.
-
Alchemist- could have a couple of potions, some foraged plants, ground ingredients, flasks, witchfire powder, a small quantity of alchemical base, etc.
-
Smelter- could have a quantity of bricks, metal bars, coal, glass, etc.
And so forth. See where I am going with this? Then all NPCs should retain a chance to drop an armor/clothing piece, their weapon, a small number of coins, etc.
This leads me to my final point; money. By goodness does in game currency desperately need an overhaul! It is utterly worthless and players are experiencing hyper-inflation completely at odds with the lore. A gold coin is almost worthless, and the less said about silver the better. I have read Conan stories where he purchases drinks for but a couple of copper coins, and here we pay 5 gold coins for a drink, up to 8 gold coins for a meal, 10 gold to hire a level 1 Exile (the fighting equivalent of a stable boy). And then anything removely worthwhile costs thousands of gold! Time for a mercantile rebalancing.
Of course. How could it be otherwise if everyone can mine gold, melt it down and mint coins in their own backyard? Here comes hyperinflation!
so before the purge revamp, gold was almost useless - basically only for the RNG lottery in bucaneer bay (absolutely worthless) and for the alchemy base (but it’s more profitable to hunt tier 3-4 bearers instead)
Also, we only had a few dozen gold bars and a few hundred coins - there was no reason to scrounge for more.
Now we have a full treasury (about 160k) , we would like to spend it but on what ? I don’t really need Iskar’s stuff for PVE and we have a t4 thrall in the pub about once a month…
Is it really necessary for NPCs to be dropping full beds? On Beta I have accumulated over 20 beds… how are they carrying these on their backs? Or dropping 8-10 thrones???
I haven’t seen beds and furniture dropping from NPCs, only from chests.
You might be right and I’m misremembering. Some of the things they have though still don’t make any sense. Like taxidermied animals, mounted heads, etc. I’ll update if I do run across a bed carrying NPC lol
…dont loot them all?
Yes, wights love taxidermy.
Drops after Dennis and Andy decided to play the game and adjust the drop so it’s fun and relevant - tons of food and taxidermied animals on every NPC.
Meanwhile we still have wind inside the house, or not being fully insulated from outside conditions.
And yes, lights still glow through the floors and ceilings - probably a feature not a bug, I did not see this in any other game.
Devs, you managed to stop the moon from shining from underground, I’m sure you can stop torches from glowing through the walls.
Really? In the age of Ray Tracing?
If you are level 60 the only thing left in killing monsters is looting if you cant loot they because the huge amount of loot we have now what shall we do? Why shall i kill a skeleton if i cant get exp or loot anymore?
They shall adjust the loot or aleast give us some reward for killing enemys maybe they can add some npc to give us missions in trade of something but right now with the huge amount of loot you get bored very fast and theres no why kill skeletons or cimerians or a boss.
To lvl up my thrall. But i totally agree here with you, i am just filling the gap of this question my great fellow exile “Mr AndersonKain”.
Why paddings?
People were loosing easily thralls with gears through problems, they were coming here apply complaints, so since the padding creation is half of the expense, devs decided to make it easier for us . Don’t forget that dragon bone armor for thralls use to be one way street because it was cheaper .
Why decorations?
Especially pvp players would definitely not put beauty over need! Now even in the most lazy PVPer house you’ll find a couple decoratives. However i find the drops a bit excessive like @Kikigirl said. I believe that this excessive part comes to the encumbrance trap for “thieves” that the game has since day one. Many people use their speed to get inside camps and steal without killing npcs. So if they’re not playing full encumbrance 10 stone thrones can be punishing . Multiple times said the pve part of this game is a really good pvp school!
Why rare metals and epic weapons ?
Many people didn’t bother except star metal to go for obsidian. Getting obsidian was effort for nothing with high risk. Now using the volcano generally is way harder that in my opinion is correct, so if we didn’t had easy obsidian bars from drops and weapon dismantling, this feature material of the game would be totally buried. So in order to balance situations we have rare metals drop and this way the obsidian seems balanced. Since the new loot system i don’t use the volcanic forge anymore, it’s practically useless. Same goes for the frost temple as well!
I believe in the future, we will be traveling with a blacksmith on the frost temple to fix the op black ice weapons. Just a feeling here, nothing real!
Last but not least. Million times said, this game provides many role play alternatives to enjoy. Multiple players play this game based on “only looting” which is big time fun. Al Mera yah is the looters oasis, since it provides many basic needs that a warrior needs. Even the no named warriors there are really decent. Same goes for Sobek cave.
Generally this new loot system is far more pleasant than the old one, far more pleasant. I believe that the decoration part is the most irritating of all and it didn’t cover the original goal successfully. Other than that it’s better yet some improvements are always welcome.
So instead of making posts to take things “back” let’s scratch our heads a bit how to go “further” i say!
