This scandalously broken game should be removed from the stores

This section is about feedback, so here is mine – although by the look at the whole mess around CE I guess I could well just skip this and save some of my time…

I’ve bought the game for my PS5 about 1 month ago. Was stupid enough to buy the “Isle of Siptah” edition… I’ve started with the base game and managed to play for just two weeks, accepting all the annoying “little” bugs. Then the game crashed for the first time and the crash has ruined everything. More details here.

I’ve submitted all the requested information just to see my post being automatically closed after 14 days since the last reply without a single official response (except the one related to the forum functionality about posting screenshots) and even without the post receiving the status “Report-Received”.

I wish I had done some research before the purchase, but I didn’t as it was never necessary for a game before. The number of (similar) issues is shocking.

I’m a software developer myself. My product doesn’t have anything to do with games, but a game is basically just that: software, so… There is no bug-free software, but it’s well possible to reduce the number of bugs, the frequency of occurrence a more importantly the effects (data loss etc.) to a minimum that allows to call a software “working” and “stable”. Nothing of this applies to CE and although it’s mostly harder to fix an existing code than to make new code, it still doesn’t relieve Funcom of their responsibility either to sell a functioning product or to stop selling it!

I agree with many comments that we are paying customers, but I also agree that there is a difference between us being private consumers (B2C relationship) and business customers (B2B relationship). The former ones don’t have many options to deals with fraud like that, sadly…

Yes, what Funcom is doing is nothing else but fraud!

We can only stop buying anything they offer and spread “the word of truth” about them on social media to prevent others falling into this trap.

I’ve deleted the game, rated it accordingly and saved Funcom in my memory as a game studio to avoid in the future.

What an abysmal performance…

Hello Harperson

There are so many complaints on the forum alone. Who knows how many people have silently deleted the game.

If you are going to play a Funcom game, hurry up and play as much as you can before they release an update  because every update will break it more. It is a company that produces very good games but continues them very badly.

The island of Siptah is a DLC not the base game. Exiles is the base game. Siptah has been a disaster since release and is actually running better now then it ever has.
If you had googled it you would have known.

Game plays fine on the PC.

And I’m king of the world.

And a Jaguar V12 is basically a lawn mower motor.

I play hours daily.

Functions just fine for thousands daily.

How?
The game not working for YOU that works fine for 98% of people is not fraud.

So OP,
What are you doing besides coming here to express your opinion, especially to us?
Many of us have been here longer than you can imagine and we’re still playing it despite its flaws.
Are you trying to insult us?
If you have something to prove, take it to the despicable social media and express yourself there. See just how far your opinion is going to go then.

Instead of pointlessly quoting little parts out of context and making it personally, reading more precisely and actually thinking about what you read wouldn’t hurt.

I hadn’t stated anywhere that Siptah was the base game or something like that. I’ve mentioned the edition I’ve bought just to say, that I’ve intentionally paid more (base game + DLC), than the base game alone would cost, meaning more frustration, because I wasn’t even able to play the base game for more than two weeks, not to speak of the DLC.

I also said, that I’ve bought it for PS5.

However you put it: if a software crashes and the result of the crash means lost data, progress etc., requiring you to start from scratch, without a way to use an early snapshot, it’s just poor software. Keeping selling such a software is fraud.

It works fine for you and all other PC gamers - great, be happy and keep playing. The Playstation section is full of reports about lost data, game not starting whatsoever. There are summary posts where all the issues are categorized and linked. Those are quite long too. So it’s not like the game is not working for me only and your “98% are happy” is most likely not correct, but well, the whole approach and wording of your post tells me, that discussing with your can’t be serious.

If you disagree and want to provide your own feedback, go ahead, make a post, praise Funcom, whatever. The above was and is my feedback.

No clue what you are talking about :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s a feedback section, so I’ve posted my feedback.

I’ve put a decent chunk of time into this game, and as much as I have enjoyed playing Conan, it’s fairly obvious that for a while now they have been putting in the bare minimum amount of work needed to coast this game along until they eventually shut down the servers.

Clear as mud.

No not when it’s such an exteme rare occurrence. I’ve played for 7 years and never had it happen.

That you some how couldn’t find before you bought the game?

I have little praise for funcom, but I’m not accusing them of fraud either.

No it’s a general forum with a specific PS section; that you missed, “feed back” is just a thread label.

You should see how old some of the games are funcom still operates.

I congratulate you for your patience and kindness.

I love this game but I won’t deny that it has a lot of problems. That would be wrong. I don’t advocate for something bad for my own benefit.
I remember having a nervous breakdown and cursing when I couldn’t enter the game because of the “battleeye kick”. I was panicking and afraid that my base would collapse. Many people’s bases collapsed. because they didn’t turn off the auto deca. it was a complete disgrace.

Now if PlayStation has problems such as not being able to enter the game and not being able to see the servers, this is a big deal. It should not be underestimated. It is not acceptable for people’s labor to be lost due to a company mistake.

Congratulations again for being polite and kind. It’s difficult under these circumstances.

For what? The 98% of people the game works fine for?
Did not say flawless.
Or the fact the game not working for you isn’t fraud which it isn’t.

Does the game not play on ALL PS5, or just a very few with some specific commonality?

Die hards give plenty themselves, we may accuse the devs of being less then competent, but we are not accusing them of fraud, that is a step too far.

If thousands play daily how is it broken?
Broken games do not work for anyone. Does it have bugs and issues? Sure, but if you can play hours daily it’s not broke.

No part of that post was polite or kind, either you are being sarcastic or have no idea what the words mean.

This is exactly what I do, I spread the word about this company.

Studios like this are the reason Valve had to revise its Early Access policy. Now, a game can only be sold in Early Access for three months, after which refunds must be issued if it remains unfinished. That’s how bad things have gotten.

It’s laughable. We’ve had people on stream unable to even walk through a door. Repeatedly slamming into a wall like clowns. These are the same people making decisions, and clearly, none of them have spent even an hour playing their own game. One hour is all it takes to learn the basic controls.

Then come the hotfixes. One issue gets patched, and three more crawl out of the woodwork in its place.

After years of feedback and criticism, you’d think something… anything… would change. But no. They don’t care. They sit back, laugh, and say, “Hey, we’ve got your money. We’re done here.”

The current community? A bunch of retirees and no-lifers who treat the game like their second reality, incapable of critical thought. They’re not customers, they’re mindless consumers, happily swallowing whatever garbage Funcom serves up.

And now there’s a new game coming. Notice how they didn’t even bother to set up a forum here? They don’t want their next batch of victims to hear from us or see the truth.

Everyone’s left, PvP players, most popular modders. This forum is a ghost town. Same five faces posting day after day, plus some weirdo spamming sad-face emojis. Even the YouTubers have bailed, except for one poor soul still dancing for Crom Coins.

This forum belongs to “conan exiles”.
The first goal of those here is utopian. To have a better “CE” version. i.e. constructive criticism. or making a list of existing bugs. to contribute to the development of this game.
The second purpose is to help new players.
Participation in this forum is very low, it really feels like we are not even 50 people in total.

You’re too defensive. I understand you but you don’t understand people who rebel. When Blu* Ra*ger came, we all rebelled in the same way.

Many of us have seen fit to warn people about not buying the game. I mean, sometimes the conditions make it difficult for us. Funcom can also be a victim. But we are all customers.

Yes, the tone is lost in translation.

Wrong. That is because of many garage games being sold as “early access”, then never got any further development.

I could give you a list of games that sat in EA for years.

:donkey: :billed_cap:
Ya know when I’m not playing a game I have better things to do then come to it’s forum to run down it’s players, so who has no life?

For a time I was one of the top Dune discord posters, and that was my message.
never once got in trouble with admin.

Good. Let’s start by spreading it on every Dune related social media.

Reddit, X, Steam discussions etc.

People need to be made aware of how Funcom handles their games and customers.
