This section is about feedback, so here is mine – although by the look at the whole mess around CE I guess I could well just skip this and save some of my time…
I’ve bought the game for my PS5 about 1 month ago. Was stupid enough to buy the “Isle of Siptah” edition… I’ve started with the base game and managed to play for just two weeks, accepting all the annoying “little” bugs. Then the game crashed for the first time and the crash has ruined everything. More details here.
I’ve submitted all the requested information just to see my post being automatically closed after 14 days since the last reply without a single official response (except the one related to the forum functionality about posting screenshots) and even without the post receiving the status “Report-Received”.
I wish I had done some research before the purchase, but I didn’t as it was never necessary for a game before. The number of (similar) issues is shocking.
I’m a software developer myself. My product doesn’t have anything to do with games, but a game is basically just that: software, so… There is no bug-free software, but it’s well possible to reduce the number of bugs, the frequency of occurrence a more importantly the effects (data loss etc.) to a minimum that allows to call a software “working” and “stable”. Nothing of this applies to CE and although it’s mostly harder to fix an existing code than to make new code, it still doesn’t relieve Funcom of their responsibility either to sell a functioning product or to stop selling it!
I agree with many comments that we are paying customers, but I also agree that there is a difference between us being private consumers (B2C relationship) and business customers (B2B relationship). The former ones don’t have many options to deals with fraud like that, sadly…
Yes, what Funcom is doing is nothing else but fraud!
We can only stop buying anything they offer and spread “the word of truth” about them on social media to prevent others falling into this trap.
I’ve deleted the game, rated it accordingly and saved Funcom in my memory as a game studio to avoid in the future.
What an abysmal performance…
