Thrall gone when I died

Hi I just lost a level 17 thrall, I am knew to the game and died from frostbite…and my Thrall was just gone, off the list no name on the follower list anymore. Is this normal? can I get him back? I just play single player with no mods.

Not without admin tricks. settings - server settings - admin. Then respawn your slave and increase your lvl intake. and kill them by spawning things. You can do it as follows.

I play on official servers. On one server, my character and ALL my thralls died by “decay,” even though I had logged on six days earlier, and all my buildings were intact. And, on my main server, I have been losing one or two thralls every day for the last few days, including most of my T4’s. It appears that I may be losing my most recently acquired thralls, but I’m not sure about that. Stupid devs.

:weary:yikes! Thanks!

If you’re playing single player on a PC you can get your follower back.

But you will lose progress, you need to find the folder
steam / steamapps / common / Conan Exiles / ConanSandbox / Saved

Delete game.db
look for the game_backup_##.db dated and timestamped at just before you lost your follower, then rename that file to game.db

This will restore the game to before you lost the thrall.
Remember anything you did after that will be reset also.
So it really is up to you how badly you want that thrall back.

This is not normal.
I’ve been playing single player for 4.5 years and this has never happened.

It could be normal
What did the event log say?
Where did it happen?

If it was up in the Ice, death by frostbite without proper gear is normal
and that place is loaded with avalanche mini-bosses so losing a thrall in that region is also normal.

Check the event log before jumping to conclusion.

droch-aon I bow to you. 100 times I bow to you. I will hold a feast in your honor. I lost maybe 1 hour of game time but have 3 lost thralls returned. Huzzah!

The author was asking about the disappearance of the thrall, not about his own death.

And I mentioned the thrall as well.
Granted a particular set of circumstance must occur in single play.
But if the player character is in the vicinity of the thrall it absolutely could be killed, NORMALY.

OP said he was new, so he didn’t know to wait somewhere far away for the thrall to return home.

All I said was check the EVENT LOG before you make blanket statements
about what constitutes normal game play.
