Thrall Disappeared From Follower List, Is This Normal?

I got wiped out by a Rotbranch, I have the perk that lets me travel with two thralls and a mount. As usual I appeared back at base, but I had everything set up to summon my corpse so I did so, then waited for the corruption/tainted to heal and ran back to where my dudes were. Got there and they were no where to be found. Went to my followers list and one and my mount were listed as “returning home” and then “guarding” and found them when I got back to my base, but the third follower is off the list entirely. When I died he was at full health, so it’s not like he could have died. Is this normal? Some cost of summoning my corpse or something? He was the lowest level of the three, but statwise by far the strongest. Going to be a pain in the ass if he’s gone for good.

edit: So I see this is a sudden issue with a lot of users now. One person recommended going through the backup save files and reverting to an earlier one where I still have my thrall. Before attempting that I just want to ask a few questions. 1. Is there any risk of that corrupting my save? 2. Is this fine within the rules and not likely to risk ban or loss of trophies or anything like that? 3. If I copy all the backups to another folder, since it does this every five minutes can’t I just go backwards through the saves one by one until I find one a few minutes before my thrall vanished?

I can’t answer your edit questions because I don’t play on singleplayer, I only use it for testing purposes.

But what I am wondering: is the thrall that disappeared a crafter/bench thrall?

Regarding your edit questions -
if you are playing in singleplayer (on PC) none of this should be a problem.

  1. If you are worried about corrupting your savegame, there shouldn’t be a way for that to happen. But the safest option would be to copy the save file you want to protect (game.db) from the save folder to another location (I usually just dump a copy on the desktop). Then you can slot in and out whatever backup save files you want to try out until you find one that works for you. Obviously, going back to an earlier save before the thrall vanished would mean that you will lose any progression you had made after that point, but that should be the only impact.

  2. You can do pretty much whatever you like in singleplayer (short of breaking into the code in some copyright infringing way, which this is nowhere even close to). It’s your game, and they won’t ban you for anything you choose to do within it. (Again, unless you were doing something genuinely illegal, Funcom isn’t going to ban anyone in CE - when you hear people complaining about ‘bans’ all they actually mean is they got banned (or suspended) from playing on Official servers for some infraction - and those infractions also always take place on Offficial servers - the bans are about conduct there, not what you do on a private server or in dsingleplayer). Similarly, no trophies/achievments should be at risk - they are just for having done something in the game at some point, and most of them can be completed with full admin cheats on if people wanted to.

  3. Yep, that’s exactly how it works. As I said above, the only thing you should risk losing would be any additional progress you had made since the save you choose to go back to. (I agree with copying all the backup saves to another folder, - otherwise the game will start overwriting them as you spend time in each restored version of a save - it’ll create a new backup1 after a few minutes and so on.)

I hope that helps  Seems like you already know where to find all the files etc, but if you get stuck, drop me a reply and I’ll try to clarify
