Thrall Limit Discourages Clans, Encourages Solo Play - Increases Base Count

Yeah dude, i’ve been purged by just about everything the game can throw at me including yetis spawning inside my house. though I see you edited out suggesting i didnt know what i was talking about. :stuck_out_tongue:

It was a legit question, I dont do PvE or PvE-C so I genuinely had no idea.

I assumed as much. PVPers are totally focused on death and destruction. I played for six months with my ex-boyfriend and his army buddies on PVP servers so I know the mindset.

I know exactly what you mean , in my posts above I said three things that must be noticed , except the fact that I agree with a thrall cap , to be honest for some bases 50 is nothing .
1st , some people use the game mechanics to do wonders and some to bring chaos .
2nd , I will be very disappointed for a dozen of persons ,knowing that they have huge bases with great amount of thralls , but their attitude on building and Thralls is for example to all the others how the game should be played when dominance is the point :wink: .
3rd , last but not least , some of you play this game way more than I do , you may be on the same server more than 3 years now and have some Thralls since day one , so how difficult it will be for you to choose what to keep and what to leave ? I know that almost 2 years ago we had again this delima with the arrival of follower 1 system ,when all the old Thralls became lazy entertainers , still some persons , for their own reasons decided no matter what to keep that Thralls . Now again you must choose , hard decision , very hard .
Still once again , I believe that pve doesn’t need bases or castles or whatever , all you need is a really good looking house and 20 or 30 really good Thralls , nothing more :wink: without ofcurce trying to force my gaming way , it is just my opinion for the game and nothing more than that .

I really hope my dear friend that you understand that I am not saying anything against the creative persons of the game but all the full complex persons that destroy the servers .

Also just realize that I am hoping for a small compromise from FC on headcount, as I realize the majority seem to want a cap, and I have to respect that.

I dont thing the majorety like the cap but understan the need for it, the same as for the decay time even if its a pain on many wayes.

If the thrall limit (which is going to come eventually) discourages clans, what are some suggestions to actually encourage making and keeping a clan?

One suggestion from me would be have an ā€œallianceā€ option (for clans of 5 or more) this way two clans can still keep their builds but, can help each other when needed.

Thank you , I really appreciate your response to my call . I can see in this post that some really creative persons gathered so all I can do is take a stand with you . Because no matter what , it is not fair for the good players of this game not to have a reward for their efforts all these years . All the creative persons are always sharing persons too , helping others in every chance and advertising the best community face of the game . Or create builds that even Devs couldn’t imagine making the servers Dreamworld . There for I believe that for these players only a second thought must exist .

This. I was one of the people who opposed the cap very loudly when they announced it. Over the time that passed since then, I came to accept it as necessary and actually ask that it be activated.

I still dislike it, but I believe we need it. I’ve seen with my own eyes what excessive followers do to the server performance.

It’s like having speed bumps on a residential street. We wouldn’t need them if people didn’t drive like dicks, but they do, so we have them.

Get rid of the free constant in the thrall limit formula. Suppose each player gets 30 thralls, then a 2 player clan would get 60, a 3 player clan would get 90, etc.

It’s not the thrall limit per se that discourages clanning, it’s the formula they chose.

i am down for a thrall cap… i just wonder since they taking away a lil or a good bit of some of our base defence or they gonna give us something else better to help defend the bases instead of letting ppl spam build even more?

thats now with more ppl spam building i am seeing more of a server FPS hit then thralls everywhere… been on a few servers where ppl didn’t have thralls every where but the spam building was like every where you looked and the server FPS was bottoming out around 6 to 8 a lot.

Having a main base, 2 wheels, an outpost, no fast travel, dyslexic fighters and possible 5 waves of Illigors I’d like the cap pretty high atm. (More than 20 or 30 anyway)

Uh, no. Clans are useful on PVE(-C), too. For one thing, it’s great to be able to go on vacation without worrying about your buildings all decaying. Also, in Exiled Lands we have no way to trigger the purge whenever we want, and it’s really a chore for a solo player to fill up the purge meter.

That’s why many of us are unhappy about having an incentive against forming and joining clans.

Yes but unless its real life frends or some you have learnd to trust the one you invight to youre clan or accept an inv whit the big risk of loosing everything you have build the last 3 years! And the risk contra the purgmter and a chanse to do a vacations whitout a fend babysit the game for you is also a bad combo of the clan system!

I’ve seen that fear voiced a lot on the forums, and I’ve always wondered about whether it’s the PVP mentality or my 3 years in this game have been luckier than I imagined.

I’m curious, do you play PVE(-C) a lot? I’ve been playing almost exclusively PVE-C, with a brief stint of PVE, and the only people who would do what you suggested are griefers. On PVE(-C) servers, griefers are relatively easy to spot.

Yes i was on a provat pvec server during early acced and then 1/2 year on a pvp server and on a pve-c server till now. And sean sever times bean robbed of everything they have by other players.

The only reason to be in a clan is of you are an harcore pvp (even on pve-c) clan so you can gett acces to frendly basses. Yes normaly they are easy to spot by they are werry eager to join some one they dont know at all. And dont forget the risk the pvper do some stupid that caouse the hole clan to be baned to.

@Masmassu ,Allow me one small correction here , because sometimes we speak like all must think and play like I do , either pve to PvP , you go on a clan because you like the members , not because it is a necessity . You can solo all three options you have and you cannot say it’s easier or harder , but for sure when you play in a clan with people you like, the game is in another level because you laugh a lot . When I play for my self , I have to farm for my self and I don’t need to take risks for nobody , when I play with others , I have to farm for all of them and I have to take risks from time to time . Still , a clan with persons you like worths everything .

Yes its fun to play whit frends of they are frends and not backstab you. And if you are new on a server you dont have mutch to loose and then it makes it alot esier to take the risk and form a clan.

But the clan system is a bad and risky system whit no diplomasy whit other clans and so on. Its have bean a big demand on a propper clan system uppdate sins day one of the game!

And now whit the thrall limits its another point to play solo, youre frends can come and help whit the purge anyway.

@Masmassu ,My dear friend , it took me more than a year to find people to play with , like you, I joined some clans but most of them cared to take the juice of me but not to share anything , so I was leaving friendly . Finally after all this wonder on different servers I found persons I wanted to play with . At the beginning we were 7 , now only 3 of us play Conan exiles , but it’s ok , we laugh a lot no matter what and that’s the point :wink: . I wish you the same .
