When travelling on a structure built on the volcano the thrall suddenly choose to teleport down the building instead of using the stairs killing him. Just need to walk down the stairs (didn’t even run). The logic would be to make the thrall teleport ON the structure I’m standing since he was following me instead of down below in the lava. There was plenty of room around me for him and no decoration yet.
This will occur with any pet or thrall in the volcano. I lost a lvl 19 purge thrall that way. They react the same way in a building not in the volcano area as well. I can be on the 3rd lvl and the thrall will stay on the 1st lvl until I either use my map room or leave. been this way since the game came out.
Lets hope the thrall rework fix that. Same with purges running into lava (happened 2 purges ago) and normal volcano NPCs wandering into lava (seen yesterday).
Maybe the game AI can’t identify the building pieces, the floor as ‘a thing that he/she can walk on’?
When the game teleports the follower it tries to place it onto the original terrain and since it can’t because the follower can not fit in there because fo the building piece is there it raises to that point until it can place the follower?
I have the same problem wih my sandy rapper freddie (yeah, that’s her name - sand reaper queen) when I’M in the kitchen, she just can’t fit in there so the game teleports her onto the roof.
So do you have enough space under the stairs to fit a thrall under it leading to teleport her/him in the lava directly? MAYBE that’s the case.
I would be good to fully understand how the game works.

Its been a community requested feature and if I understand the devs plans, its in the works. But its been a while since there was any statements about it, so I don’t know how much progress has been made with it so far.
With the size of the building the issue isn’t the fact that he can’t fit there, and not recognizing building pieces like foundations, stairs and ceiling seem like a majors oversight if that’s the case. The thing is that usually the thrall do walk down the stairs, he just randomly decided the other day that this time he couldn’t be bothered to do so and teleport down the building. And leading there there is a lot of stairs with which he didn’t had issue.
