Thralls and the new purge system

Is it true that a purge is harder based on the amount of thralls you have and if so is the reward better for the purge lvl or the same?

Thank you for you help with this

The more thralls are placed at your base, the more enemies will spawn at a purge.

The number of thralls you have in total is not relevant, only the number at your base.

The rewards do not seem to change.

I do not know if thralls that follow you or are in the base, but “returning home” do count, but I guess not.

It can still be useful to defend your base with a whole army - maybe the increased spawn numbers can be defeated with a large army. Haven’t tested that yet.
What is NOT advisable, though, is to start a purge at a base where you placed 40+ named thralls you carefully collected and curated over the years, but don’t want to risk in a purge, then place another 50 disposable fighters and archers on your walls for them to look cool.
Speaking from experience here. Seen the movie 300, when the army of 1000 nations descends on the Spartans? That’s what happened to my base. Its wall held fast, but the game didn’t.

LOL, thanks for the example. Yeah, I was running with maybe 10 thralls. The archers were weak and most were not fully leveled. SO if more bad guys spawned because of this it does not seem wise to keep them at the base as the higher spawn rate due to them does not seem to be in my favor.

Thanks for answering, it was useful!!!

Another question this raises is whether the thralls from the banner count toward your total thralls at your purge base or not. And if they do does placing them after the purge start negate this?

I assume they dont, cause they are supposed to be “helpful” reward. If their existence made the purge harder that would defeat the purpose.

Im curious about this actually.

I would tend to agree with you but you know Funcom. lol
I’m also curious if it counts non-clanmate thralls and players who might be there to help out.
