Thralls decay timer update - This is unacceptable

Its bad enough that the decay timer on thralls was set to a single day. If this was merely an accident, then FUNCOM needs to repair the situation immediately. If it wasn’t a mistake, then making such a siesmic change without sending any notification to the general player base is unacceptable, and a betrayal of the trust that exists between the game developer and the players/fans. Most of us have lost considerable time and resources with this change, and it becomes harder to correct the more time that goes by… Funcom, you need to get off your collective backsides and fix this or walk it back, because I would not be the only one calling for a boycott. The voices of the players will be heard, one way or another.

Knowing Funcom, this was an accident, but they won’t fix it until the weekend is over. They don’t work on weekends.

Also, I bet that they’re going to “apologize” for it by giving us a period of boosted harvest time or something like that. That’s usually how they do it: screw up, let it sit like that until it starts to stink, clean up the mess, and throw players a bone.

What they should have learned by now is that if they don’t have an emergency response team, whatever updates they do should be postponed over weekends to Mondays so they have a crew ready to react to whatever goes wrong.

I wonder if a manager at Funcom said to a developer: “The last thing you want to do is press the “Update” button on Friday just before you leave and go fishing for the weekend.” and the developer understood that as meaning that he should press the “Update” key as the last thing before leaving on Friday.

At this point I feel like comedy is the best way to cope with tragedy.

Contrary to what I expected, they reacted during the weekend and everything they did was much faster than before. It looks like they had learned that they needed an emergency response team and actually had one standing by.

And it looks like they might be learning another important lesson:

Here’s hoping.

It’s like with Bioware :poop: They launch updates on Friday. Nobody can login to the server. Well too bad, mod on forum says that when devs come back to work Monday they are going to investigate.
When Intel 12th gen was released SWTOR could not launch on these CPUs. Bioware did not solve the issue for 6 months and did not even reply on the forum to all the crying for help.
Some smart dude made a community fix, you had to add magic formula spell to the .exe so the game was able to start on Intel 12th gen. 6 months later Bioware fixed that officially.

What I want to say - Funcom is great compared to Bioware. Come on guys, it could have been a total nightmare.
