IDK what causes it, if I give them gruel in their inventory, it last several restarts, in thrall pot it is all gone after a single day.
Can you confirm that the food is consumed? Because what the thrall pot does is to distribute the food in the thralls/pets’ inventory which is then consumed from there. Basically the food is moved from the thrall pot to the inventory of the thrall/pet.
In addition, are you playing on a server or singleplayer. If on server, private or official. If private server or singleplayer, are you running mods or not?

In their inventory it’s used to heal damage, no damage, no gruel used.
in the thrall pot it’s used for giving buffs, every time the buff fades another gruel is used.
that’s why the pot empties faster.

Does the thrall pot even distribute gruel? My clan mate tried placing one down and put in gruel and none went to the thrall. Haven’t tried it myself, but another put haunch in one and it was distributed, I thought maybe since gruel wasn’t a food option back when the feeding system was on that maybe the pot didn’t work with it.
I don’t know. I don’t use gruel in the thrall pot.
I only used it as a placeholder for food in general, because the post above mine mentioned gruel.
My understanding is the thrall pot no longer distributes anything, the buffs are granted directly from the pot to the listed thralls.
It could be that there is no buff from gruel.
Gruel gives a buff when placed on a thrall, so not sure. I haven’t put a pot in the base because we still have thralls to level and I don’t want them to eat the wrong food.
Do you play SP? They eat a piece of food every time they loose their buff. Thralls loose their buff with every server restart. But SP is made in such a way that every location “restarts” every time you get into it. So if you often leave your base & return they celebrate your every homecoming with a new piece of food

I’m on official c: so yea, they probably just eat all the time to refresh the buff, sucks xD so the bowl is pretty dumb, ok

That would only be 1 restart per day. How many thralls are you feeding with the pot and how much gruel?
