Thralls getting killed with PVB turned off by other players placing Wall Palisades on them

[Describe the bug here]

Hello Dear Funcom Crew

I got a question about something. I want to know if this is an exploit/glitch or just a normal thing that u wanted to work like that. It happends a lot of times at Official servers and now at Private server that im playing. I reported this to admin of the server, but he needs proof from “Funcom Developers” if this is really bannable. So lets talk about it - people are killing thralls/pets by placing near them “Wall Palisades” with PVB/Raiding turned OFF. Thralls/Pets should be invincible and immune to damage from players in that time, but people are killing it with palisades, thralls are getting damage from debuff “Spikes, 10 dmg per sec” from those palisades. Could you check that and say if thats OK or its an exploit and people abusing it should get warned?

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Turn PVB / Raiding OFF
  2. Place thrall on the ground, it can be on GUARD or just SCOUTING
  3. Place a few WALL PALISADES near them, block him with those items
  4. Thrall gonna suffer a damage from Palisade’s debuff and slowly DIE

Hello @Teabag, welcome to the forums!

This would not fall under exploit abuse but rather a possible bug abuse should this behavior (palisades dealing damage outside of raid time) be unintentional.
We’ll relay this matter to the developers so that they can consider it.

This has been going on for a long time. It will even work on official pve server on human thralls not animals or monsters. However you can’t loot the bodies on pve server.

I died on an official PVE server once because I lagged into another players palisades. They also do damage to your own thralls which is why I never use them

I can confirm this is definitely the case!

At this point I wish palisades would kill pets and monsters. On a official pve server someone has left behind around a hundred thralls from yetis to people on a large area of the river you can build something small but otherwise would have a bunch of idiot’s in your base they have been their over 6 weeks hopefully decay will get them eventually unless owner is still logging on.

I’m also on Official PVE server, I’m a little fearful of mentioning this, but there was a clan on my server that left for good, all bases had decayed, but they left a ridiculous amount of guys behind in the New Asagarth area as well. Eventually I placed palisades and got rid of the fighters, but alas all the animals were still left. They disappeared after about a month, but if just one player from the clan logs back in, I believe it continues to extend the decay of those animals and fighters. My guess is one of them keeps logging in.

It was by total accident that I found it would kill them, but it’s been a helpful tactic when inconsiderate players just place thralls thinking they are claiming that land. You can’t place palisades on someone else’s claimed land, so it doesn’t really seem to be cheating or anything really negative.

I completely understand you are not being offensive just clearing area for growth of the community Happy this Works for you

This is the only method we have for removing decayed base thralls…If it’s a bug … I LIKE IT. You can not place a pallasade on claimed land so unless you leave your thrall in the middle of ten buck two it is NOT an issue…why would you even complain about it.

Agreed.

I was playing on my own server over the weekend chatting with some players and they are using palisades to get rid of unwanted left over thralls. And by the chuckles after it was mentioned I think the one lady enjoyed impaling thralls. So where did all my followers go???

This palisade trick definitely works… at war with some exploiters on a public PvP server and they made sure that they boxed every thrall in a Palisade a few mins before raid time ended… where we couldn’t blow up the palisades to free them.

I wish palisades wouldn’t damage pets/thralls at all, but that a system was implemented to properly get rid of thralls when a player stops playing.

I agree with you. Also require players to refresh thralls similar to buildings not just logging in.
