Thralls getting stuck on walls and rocks and, etc NOW with FIX!

Now it used to be thralls had a 300-400 meter leash to you if they got stuck. Now you can teleport to the other side of the map and your thrall will remain stuck on the other side of the map. The only fix is to quit the game for 20-30 minutes and restart what you were trying to get done once your stuck thrall times out and returns home.

Two years ago this getting stuck on wall thing hardly ever happened. Then a patch came that allowed a certain 5 Cimmerians to see through walls and with that patch the permanent stuck on wall, rock, tree, BUG appeared. And often when your thrall gets stuck on the wall their AI times out so they don’t fight back, they just die.

Now that, “Thrall must be placed on walkable surface.” has been added the getting stuck occurence has risen to game-killing levels. It literally happened twice in 10 minutes last night in the Unnamed City. So we just quit for the night.

My point is, we have been complaining about this BUG for over 1.5 years now and it only gets worse as you layer more and more conditions/rules onto thralls. So time is up. You have shown you can’t fix this or don’t understand what is happening. Time to restore the 400 meter snap-too leash that the thralls used to have. That would fix all the stuck on wall bugs that are happening every day, sometimes several times per day, sometimes causing the loss of a thrall. Oh, so sorry, our year-old BUG killed another of your thralls!

Ahoy!

I have been plagued by this issue as well.

Temporarily solution that has actually proven to work for me.

Move away half a click, then engage anything you find, one of those skinnies in UC or a boss or Scorpion (meaning anything) and dance around it while blocking a couple attacks with your shield, your thrall will teleport to you if you stay in combat like that for no more than 3 minutes.

I tried logging out and back in…didn’t work.
I tried running away for more than “5” clicks…no dice.

But the combat method works guaranteed every time.

Not the best solution but it’s something at least.

We tried that, but glad it works for you.

Precisely, the thrall got stuck on the alter of the skeleton warrior boss near to the UC obelisk. We proceeded to the serpentman boss and fought it for about 3 minutes. At other times I have fought stuff very far away, over and over, but no luck.

@Bladesaint ,Let’s hope the new update will fix this issue . For me ,it works only if I go back to the base and ask from another thrall to follow . After 5 Min my event log says that my stucked thrall is returning home . It is a nusty bug however . To avoid these issues I stopped go in unnamed city or dungeons full encumbrance . I am the fighter and my thrall my assistant . I use my thrall only for a bit to heal and I take the fight on me again . 4 perks in strength and Yogs touch are really good to take the fights . Still I avoid some fights ,for example Great rhino , great stone giant , Thunder foot and two of the skeleton mini bosses in the khari dungeon . The one with the hammer on the bridge and the one with the khari great sword always one shot me and I hate that .

Another workaround is to use a truncheon and a shield. Do a heavy combo and with the last move (shield bash) make sure you hit the follower. If you knock the follower a few feet, this should give them sufficient motivation to stop goldbricking. If they are stuck close to a wall, try to shimmy in behind as much as possible, if not, try to knock them along the wall. Sometimes you might have to hold a move key as you are doing it, to keep yourself in place and just smack them around with the full heavy set of combos till you get to the last move.

This method seems to always work, at least so far.

The fix, since they cant get the AI bugs right, is to add a /stuck command that you can map to a keyboard key that teleports the thrall to the last known good position.
I agree this bug is super annoying and basically game breaking because I am unwilling to take a thrall I spent days leveling into a dungeon just to lose them because they became stuck or quit the dungeon and wait for them to “return home”.

My workaround is I lure an enemy to it and it starts attacking my follower. Usually all enemies have some attacks that knock the follower down/away. Most of the times this helps.

The fix, strange as it seems since it has always been there, is to run 300 to 400 feet away from your thrall, bring up the command wheel for your thrall and select STOP! Thrall teleports to you!

It just seems incongruent that telling your thrall to STOP would unstick it from a wall. Maybe we should think of it as STOP bugging out?
