Tier 4 Smelter Thrall Jon the tinkerer doesn't reduce crafting time as much as other Tier 4 Smelter Thralls

The tier 4 smelter thrall Jon the tinkerer (‘tinkerer’ is lowercase in game too) doesn’t reduce the crafting time like other tier 4 smelter thralls. I have Jon and Tiberius Burning-Britches next to each other in Improved Furnaces and Jon only crafts 38 Iron Bars in the time it takes Tiberius to craft 50 Iron Bars.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Put Jon the Tinkerer in a Furnace with 100 Ironstone.
  2. Put Tiberius Burning-Britches in a Furnace with 100 Ironstone.
  3. Turn on both Furnaces at the same time, ninja style.
  4. Watch as Tiberius Burning-Britches burns through the stack of 100 ~25% faster than Jon the tinkerer.

WOW nice catch,

tested this with 4x regular T4:

  • Daya Leaddrinker
  • Fingal Firetender
  • Melicoma the Watcher
  • Jon the tinkerer

and 5x T4 Purge only:

  • Tiberius Burning-Britches
  • Stroker Bram
  • Strai Ember-eye
  • Thran of the Flowing Steel
  • Thunkmek Ironwrought

Smelters and you are absolutley right.
The T4 Purger are around 25% faster than the regular T4 smelters.
This need further testings but i agree so far and nice catch.

Is it that all Purge Smelters that are faster then normal T4 Smelters? If so, it sounds intended. I’ll DM you on Discord, I can look in the dev kit.

Further investigation reveals that most (if not all, but I didn’t go through all of them) Purge crafters of all types (Smelter, Priest, Taskmaster, Armorer, etc) have faster craft speeds then map Tier 4 Thralls.

Therefore, it looks intended.

Hmmm that a good info to have, but not sure if it’s fine so.

I mean thralls, especially named/T4 thralls are already heavily focused on purge. So you may get them if:

  • you’re on a server where purge is running as intended
  • you’re in an active a bigger clan to trigger enough purges and have a good chance to get some of them

Again, it may make it very hard for some servers (no luck, call it like you want), solo/singleplayers, small clans.

While i love the purge, not sure if i mentioned it before… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
i think it would also be great if some of these super thralls was also somewhere in world, or some similar to them. This would at least allow any alternative to get them.

It’s only crafting speed that is impacted. Everything else is identical.

While I like the idea of Purge only thralls having an increased bonus, I wish they could implement it in such a way that it doesn’t look like a bug… The QA engineer in me is screaming that intended behavior is still a bug if the UI doesn’t surface the behavior.

All purge thralls of every professions have an additonal benefit tier. I have added the new purge thrall benefits to all the wiki item pages but not to the profession pages so far
