Time to say goodbye

JFC that is a beautiful build. Best wishes in your future travels, as usual my server door is open if you ever want to come back and you find the ping agreeable.

It would be sad to see you go, if the rest of us can’t change your mind. As others pointed out, private servers are a viable alternative, and they’re a better fit for a build like that. Which brings me to the unsavory thing nobody has pointed out yet.

I personally like and respect you, but I also think we need to apply the same standards to those who we like and dislike, and it needs to be pointed out that this base had plenty of stuff that has been explicitly called out in the clarifications of the rules posted by Funcom.

People might disagree with these rules, but they’re there and certain aspects of them are clear enough.

Thank you CodeMage i have the same appreciation and respect for you. Maybe by size i fall in the ToS, because it was 1/4 map square, but not a solid block it was pieces scathered to not cover the trees. Every thing had functions had stations with resources producing things, think it was not looked into.

I agree, but i see that it not happens, i was surrounded by bigger bases, including one blocking pathways that stills untouched. Last year i helped to report a clan that closed the brimstone lake, and what i got? After a short ban they came back and walled my base by two months, i reported it and nothing was done. So the same stantdads are far away from being applyed.

If it was not humilhating enough to be treated worse than abusers, being insulted with Funcom’s approval seal by [censured my post was deleted before by this] was the final strike for me.

Why was it admin wiped?

for the size, for having a pathway between constructions, think i will never know.

Jesus Edu… I hope that’s a mistake.

I’m sorry about what has happened.

That’s certainly possible.

Sorry to hear you’re also suffering through Official server abuse. Try checking out some of the really excellent Private servers as these are usually moderated by Admins which will stop the abuse. Would be a shame to effectively lose your money because some players are emotionally stunted. Good luck!

My little high-end tier base also got wiped on an official server some months ago. Abused by a reporting player. I even screenshot that player who all the time afk’d on my 25x25 base. I wasnt even offline for more than 4 days, and all gone… hundreds of thousands of Alchemical Bases as well as ultra rare Thralls…

A friendly near-by neighbor’s base also had been wiped.

As many months have passed already, I might return with official 3.0 release again.

I just finished reading your thread. Did you get confirmation via suspension message or Zendesk that your base broke ToC?

Yes tried to log in yesterday and got a ban message. Im writting a ban appeal right now, im not expecting anything back but at least the rigth to defend my self, this one side justice do not fit in this days. I strongly want to believe that the admins act in good faith based the report they recieve and as busy people he cant check everything in details, and put trust in the report. But some players abuse that good faith to get ride from their dislikes.

I think that is why they included information about abuse of the system in the ToC.

The fact that there is even an option to appeal a permaban at all and some have reported here and elsewhere that they do get reinstated means that the system does not always work as intended and is NOT perfect.

I know you’ve been paying attention to threads regarding this subject and you know there are people speaking up. People like me that have met the same fate as you. People who have friends that have been affected. @Boobie , @TeleTesselator and the grounded @CodeMage all help to bring mature insight regarding the ToC, Zendesk and the game.

My hope is that Funcom is paying attention to us and will listen to our pleas for more clarification, a more fair system, warning procedure and although maybe a big ask, live help.

I am sorry that your base got wiped and I am against the manner in which this was done. I really disapprove of deleting anything that was created by someone else without first talking to them or offering some options.
So much so, that reading this and other similar topics lately made me think of ways this could be avoided so there’s no permanent loss of creations.

However… as much as I think your base was absolutely stunningly good… that was not a base… that was a whole town… from the screenshots that looks like half the size of Sepermeru…
It looks like something that an RP server’s admins would build and populate with NPCs… so I honestly think that had absolutely no business being built on an official server be it PvE or PvP or any type. No player NEEDS a base like that, they simply might want to… for RP reasons, but for that, like others pointed out, a willing private server or single player is a much better place.

I also think that what you took out of context as a ā€œseal of approvalā€ for your wiping… was actually a sign of agreement with the post that explained how excessive amounts of pieces especially lighting causes issues with everyone who passes near that base and in bad cases can interfere with the server and everyone connected to it.
Now I read what you said about there being even bigger bases around yours, a lot of times thou on these forums I see people not understanding that two wrongs don’t make a right and yes they should be equally dealt with, I agree with that, however their presence should not serve as justification for your actions.

With that being said, your build was amazing so I really wish something like what I suggested in the linked thread above was already in place so that it could be saved… heck in this case I wish Funcom would make you an exception and give you said data ā€œunder the counterā€ so you can continue your game in SP or a private server (they more than likely still have it in a backup somewhere).

Good luck!

I understood and agree in part. This base was built much before ToS severe enforcement. I could did a big cube with everything inside and close the entrance, this way no one could walk to it and lag inside, or build something interesting. In the exact moment that the concerns about the ToS started i asked about it:

Questioned a lot about the size, and they say its not about the size and so on. No one in the server concerned it for 2 years, just this person. For example my machine is old i lag near any building, big or small, should i report them all? This policy of report your neighboor is a kinda n_ _azi for me.

But being called of ass/meaningless base builder and FC liking it seens a kind of abusive for me, some one on this forum ever says ā€œLet us be exclent to each othersā€, i did not see excelence to on it.

Yea that changes things a bit. If you built all that long before they adjusted the rules and then took initiative and went to them asking for your game data when they made the rule change, then this really does suck even more… they should have granted you that… you were trying to ease their server load by moving your base to single player.

You should report them for that, since that’s pretty much harassment.

You were not called an ass/meaningless base builder. Your based was called out to be unnecessary huge. JoaoV might have been a bit too direct in expressing his opinion but he is not wrong. People love to build massive buildings on officials just because they can, not because they need them or they use them. Even if some of them are pretty, these builds are not suitable for public servers that never get wiped, especially considering the current refresh mechanics.

I mean, either way the language was uncalled for.

I would probably react the same way in your case and never return to this game, but there is a solution - go play private servers, not official ones. Nothing wrong, but the behavior of the admins and the rules of the game have absolutely no logic. They added many things to the game, most of them came from DLC. They also added huge crafting stations and the player is literally forced to build a large structure because he cannot exist with them otherwise. But the problem is that you can’t build anything big because some pseudo-admin will come and delete it. What logic is there? None at all…

Like I said, try private servers. Most of the players solved it that way and I think they are very satisfied. Although it is true that there are still a few ā€œexpertsā€ who will tell you that all this behavior and action is good on the part of the admins and blah blah blah.

Good luck playing friend. BTW: those buildings were really quite nice, it’s a shame but whatever, it is what it is

It was not half quadrant with torches. It was big yes but what should i do with all dlcs i have? Go sp on a online game? Build a box with one wall to every dlc? LoL. When i started i had no clue about private servers. It had stations producing things everywhere and so on neither JV os admin toke it in account. Blaming big bases for lag is common mistake that i made in the past. But in my 3000+ hours of game play i presenced every situations on the server and realized that is was not the problem. Yesterday logged in de server with other acc (created to visit siptah) to see how it was going, and tadaaah, same lag, same ping, same high ping spikes, wipping my base solved nothing! This policy of report your neighboor is good excuse to FC never fix anything as JV is expecting, wipe all long term players, leave only new players, their bases grow with time, they get wiped and the cicle continues. In the civilized world there is a thing called dialog, and if someone aksed civilized way sure i had listen to him/sher. To finish JV was offensive, fact, and FC endorsed it.
