In all honesty players should be given the choice after the saga ends. Not be forced to one server or another. Would have been nice to have that choice during the last saga server. Those of us who were on it got sent to crom whether we wanted it or not.
So just enable free transfers after saga ends and everyone is happy.
Fury wasnāt dead before the pve saga and the mandatory transfer to crom. During saga and after saga fury was completely dead, and now itās starting to get to life again. Seems many people miss the open world freedom that crom lacks.
Wouldnāt be bad to get more potential fury population due to pvp saga.
If you are not interested in pvp, just donāt join the pvp focussed saga⦠itās not mandatory. The reward is pvp centered, so if you arenāt into pvp, you wonāt miss it either.
Crom is already too much about imbalanced end game pve items and 3rd party tools in pvp.
I canāt wait to hear what future plans Mussagana has for fury and indeed if you arenāt interested in a different pvp than the one mentionned above nothing is forcing you to join because Crom already has what you are looking for.
I think you underestimate how many people are interested in pvp. Even if itās only fury population that goes there, Iāll be having my fun.
Also, itās not in my best interest to play with / against unmotivated players. Theyāll only QQ on forums like this one and/or in global. I am not interested in farming pure pve keyboard turners either.
Money will come from event hoard caches sold and possibly p2w stuff. But I guess hoard caches are major source of income. Ppl like myself would buy those caches if it gives something nice for my mains. I dont care vanity for yet another alt after 12 toons. So selling as much caches as possible should be a strategic goal⦠since I would estimate the missing revenue from non bought caches will outnumber the income for paid server transfers. ā¦
If all Saga of Blood toons are automatically transferred to Fury (and Fury only) after the end of the event, no one on Crom will get a Scorpion mount, Broodling pet, or any of the other special Hoard-related goodies unless they pay for a character transfer from Fury to Crom. This condition by itself would significantly limit interest in the Saga of Blood server and also purchases of the event-only Hoard.
Arenāt the scorpion mount and pet a reward for sub as it was Xanthic during Zath? that way anybody who subs can claim it
Btw last saga was easy to be strict on transfer to Crom ignoring Furyers cause furyers are fewā¦
Now wil be not easy to ignore Cromers that are 95% of Aoc players
Possible compromise is give option to both but no reward at all on another toon if you choose to transfer to Crom
I donāt think giving players a choice is feasible. A merge is tricky enough without trying to have a script try and figure out if a character is to go to Fury or Crom. As it is now, they just take all characters that are level 20 or above. There is nothing in the database that flags a charater as being PvP(Fury) or PvE(Crom) preferred.
I looked at the cost of transferring a character from Fury to Crom and it is reasonable in terms of Funcom Points ($5 USD). So I am fine with transferring my Saga of Blood character to Crom using a paid transfer, as long as all of my Hoard items transfer with it.
All your hoard items would move with your character so long as they arent listed on the trader, sitting in the mail waiting to be collected into your inventory, or being sent to someone else whoās not picked them up.
On a side note, transfers used to cost 1200 points and now is 600 points with a 30 day cooldown. Seems a fair price. Iām not sure Iāll do the event in full as 7 weeks to get to 80 seems a bit extreme and boring. I understand where PvPers would have fun but as boring as it is for them to do raids and dungeons, I find it just as boring to bunnyhop and land only half my combo on other people bunnyhopping about for hours on end.
Itās fine if you prefer relaxed, scripted, streamlined content while chit chatting with your guildies in discord, over something more dynamic, competitive and less predictable, to each their own, crom is definetly not a perfect example and the game is already rewarding you more than us in both content. There are definetly women who love pvp as much as there are males who love pve, so itās really just about preference. BUT this will be a saga about pvp, nothing is forcing you to dedicate all your free gaming time to it if in the end you so much want to be transfered on crom for doing pve raiding with your pvp saga character, donāt worry your server will still be there afterward or you can always transfer.
