I created a private server to play with a friend and when we started I could take thralls no problem, now when I hit them the conciousness bar doesn’t even show up and they just take minimal health damage until they die. I’ve tried resetting my stats so str is at 10 to get the bonus conciousness damage the server bonus damage is at the default and I’ve tried adding an advanced blunt mod onto the truncheon (the one that comes from the thrall taker feat) and there are no mods running.
@Smeetly are you playing on a rented gportal server or ps4 co-OP you mentioned no mods there are no mods for ps4. If you have a gportal server make sure damage recieved for NPC,S is one.
I have heard of this happening on ps4 coop game. There’s a thread and I believe developers are aware. Did this happen after last update. I am going to give a shout to my friend @Croms_Faithful he plays offline.
It’s on a rented GPortal server, the npc damage taken is at .8, I think it did happen after the last update but I wasn’t really paying attention. I just mentioned no mods cause I was pretty sure someone would ask
Its best to leave NPC damage taken at 1.0, As Blunt fitting + weaker trub’s will not deal enough KO in ratio to Damage.
I have Player Damage at 2.0, I deal about 70-80% of life bar before I Ko most thralls. Outside damage sources often make or break I can Ko one. (Thats steel Trub with advance blunt fitting)
Weaker clubs or not fitting often cut it close, or just outright kill it. =/
This problem seems to pop up periodically for some users but not others, and I cannot seem to figure out why it affects some players but not others. Personally, I have NEVER had the misfortune of having this bug myself in Offline Singleplayer.
@Smeetly I have heard there have been issues with the standard Wooden truncheon as of late, is that the tupe you were using? The only advice I can offer at this point is to experiment with each tier of truncehon (ie-wooden, iron, steel, etc) , then with the various enhancements, such as concussive fittings and oils. If that does not work, I would advise to then try either a blunted javelin or blunted arrows. Also experiment with the Strength 10 (perk 1) active/inactive. If that still does not work, then try giving your weapons to a thrall and getting them to do the knocking out for you. It would not resolve the issue, but at least you would still be able to capture thralls until a solution is presented. If you dont have any, then you may need to buy some slaves from the Black Hand at Flotsam. We can all tell you how to build those finances if necessary Smeetly.
If you currently have few or no followers whatsoever, then I would strongly advise you to at least start raising some Pets so that you will at least have some help on hand for more challenging encounters.
@Croms_Faithful Thanks. Thralls do seem to do less damage than players do. Some of the new wandering named thralls along newbies river don’t have much health points. I run away and let health come up and go back and tenderize.
@Smeetly if none of this works admin in a reinforced steel truncheon and advanced blunt weapon fitting. After all you are working around what seems like a bug. Have fun that is what this game is to me.

The workarounds suggested in the thread have helped other players in the past, so we suggest that you keep trying to reset the server to default settings and restarting the session, which usually ends up causing the issue to disappear.
I have tried literally every option to knock someone out in the game, from the wood truncheon to the legendary all with the blunt damage boost, the consciousness bar still doesn’t even show up. I’ll keep trying to reset the server and restore defaults in hopes it will help, I really appreciate the help everyone
I have no idea at this point. May I suggest you come on my server beat on some NPC,S and compare settings server is boosted so won’t take any time to level up its WYRM’S BANE pvec if you want to tes.
