Bug Description:

I’ve started another single player game and it’s very difficult to build anywhere. I’m always getting the ‘overlapping with another object or terrain’ warning despite there being nothing there to overlap. It’s nearly impossible to build anything bigger than a hut. I’ve tried restarting the game but it makes no difference.

Bug Reproduction:

Just normal attempts to build.

This may not be your solution but I’ll say it anyway in hopes that it might help in some way. If trying to place objects like fish traps or decorations on the Terrain outside it does help pressing the “R” button or middle mouse button for sum (could be diff for you look at your key bindings in settings) this turns on the “Auto alignment to terrain feature” and allows the object to place better. If your issue is building in general you might be too close to a camp hidden in the area.
