How many people would be willing to take on a roll as a volunteer admin? Playing on a specific server and assists with helping other players who have complaints about the undefined rules such as land claims among other things where one would actually visit the location/base/build in question, conducting an actual review of the complaint. Contacting the person making the report to find out exactly what they are reporting and then contacting the person who is the target of the complaint and then sending that along with the initial report in question to the actual authority who would then make the decision based on the best information possible.
This is just an initial thought I had and thought I would put it out to the community.

This is a suggestion made in the past and I’ll once again state that I am opposed to volunteer admins.
As much as I am at odds with the way Official servers are handled I would not want another layer of increased human bias. Especially in consideration of how easy it is to manipulate.
At least those who are currently reviewing reports are on the payroll and have Standard Operating Procedures, their accountability is to the company.
Nearly everyone has been dev wiped at one point or another. I was dev wiped once. I sort of know why, and would I argue I was within the rules? Sure. But was it worth the moaning and complaining in the forums, knowing what’s done is done what’s gone is gone? Nope. We carry on, we rebuild, and most of all we learn our lesson.
You can rebuild. Nobody gets wiped for no reason. Move on.
My issue would be who would volunteer. I’m of the opinion most people that would jump on it would be the most likely to abuse the power.
Something else is once you’re server admin when are you going to have time to play?
And what lesson might that be? “Vague” is pretty well descriptive of the entire process. One of my issues with it is no clear description of why people were banned/suspended.
“Land claim abuse” does not explain how I abused the land claim. So how am I supposed to know what not to do again?
Where would be the accountability if favoritism is being done? I mean right now, the enforcement of players is practically impossible due to the ease of alt accounts. What would stop nefarious admins from abusing the alt account system?
In all seriousness, the only way it will get better is by means of FC to get true FC accounts linked to credit card numbers (so alt accounts are actually painful to the abusers) which would mean that FC would need a stronger privacy policy by the EU standards. That way enforcement against the TOS have meat to them and you can actually cut off the abusers. If they have to continuously get credit card after credit card, they would be less incline to FAFO.
All good thoughts on the topic. When I posted, the hypothetical I had going on in my head was this:
Funcom could “bless” volunteer admins that play on official servers and when a report is made about excessive land claims, building over the needed in game content and such, then that person would receive notification, they could check it out, you understand, since it is a server they play on, and if it is valid, push it to those that can actually do something. At least the volunteer has some connection to funcom.
I also understand how abuse of that could occur. Internet people are jerks quiet frequently.
All the while I was thinking, if they put something in like a limitation of a build the overall size can’t be more than a certain count of blocks or or something. Instead of just a random idea of what is against the rules.
