thats why people like andy must know the mood…
I would say: the house is on fire, there is competition on the market and I would like this game to continue to exist and not lose more players due to incompetent actions
I’ve noticed that if I just hang out in my base waiting for thralls to disappear, they go missing from the base, are no longer buffing the benches, are greyed out in the followers tab, and have nothing in the event log.
But they also do not appear at 0, 0, 0. Instead, they actually show as being in my base on the map but they are not there.
If I rescue them, they drop the clothing and gear right where they were standing before they disappeared. This makes me think they were really in my base - but like in a another dimension
Not all 10 year olds are created equal. By 10 I was quite capable of taking care of myself, my baby brother on the other hand
It’s almost a good analogy but due to eras it really doesn’t work. For me 10 was 54 years ago, a completely different age to live in.
What supervision?
Oh you think someone is going to be held accountable, aren’t you precious.
I’ve not had any show up as killed in my event log. But I’m in a safe area. All my thralls are inside. I’ve disabled thrall access to all my outside benches. And I think our server’s point 0,0,0 is full.
I did have some show up at point 0,0,0 on the first 2 days of the release - probably before that point got full.
Update: we are temporarily disabling Living Settements on official servers until we can get a patch out that addresses issues with workers. The change has not been committed yet, but we expect to have this go into effect by Saturday morning, following automated server restarts.
I’m with you. Raised on garden hoses and neglect (it was the special ingredient of parenting in the 70’s). But you can’t beat bb guns and lawn darts…not to mention obscene amounts of fireworks. Every year there was at least one incident where the neighbor kids were holding down some other kid in pain trying to talk him (and yes it was also a boy in my group that got hurt) into not telling his parents about it.
a problem that you cling to like some sunken cost fallacy. You’re right, you masochism isn’t my problem, its yours. Now would you kindly deal with it vs pollute the forums with it and get triggered…again.
Not to be excessively fixated on nits to pick…
But the bashing isn’t exactly for fulfilling this vision, but rather how it is being done.
The settlement system portion explicitly calls out players having full control of thrall scheduling.
Being able to order a specific thrall to turn off the lights in the morning or open the gates when you approach… That’s not what we are getting here, at least not yet, and it seems to run counter to the thralls like dwarf fortress characters we have seen.
Then we get to where it explicitly notes that players should build roads for faster travel…
This one invites everyone to glance at official server build rules.
Then there is the long absent god bubble…
The farther we go, the more it is perhaps not this one picking nits, but someone else picking cherries…
This isn’t a direct slight, more a poke that the video isn’t exactly doing too many favours to the current game direction the more one looks at.
Fair enough.
But this one would disagree that what we see now is a “logical chunk” of moving towards a more regimented and player controlled pattern.
It seems a move in the opposite direction.
That having been said, this one would very much like to be proven wrong, and invites you to a rousing round of I told you so if it does come to pass.
I remember that. It was that thread that made me realize there was a larger plan being implemented and I just had to find the video myself to post it here.
