Let me finish this pint and I’ll warm you feet up

If they learned anything, dont you think they would have applied it to CE by now. Good luck on the dune adventure, but be prepaired for a conan repeat. Just like all the funcom games before Conan. Update disasters always. They will have it working somewhat right in a month or two after the update. Mark my words. If Im wrong, please come back and rub it in my face. But I wont be expecting to hear from you anytime soon. Lol.

I’m glad to see someone else mentioned the delving bench issue. I’ve had the same problems with mine. I didn’t think it was an intended change, but wanted to confirm that. Thanks!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the differences between No Man’s Sky and Conan Exiles.

No Man’s Sky, developed by a much smaller team, consistently delivers new content without the need for paid DLC.
They introduce features like VR support and crossplay for free, and everything just works.
It’s impressive how they manage to do this without the massive hype and long development cycles.

On the other hand, Funcom often promises a lot with big announcements and test phases, but the final product often feels unfinished.

While I’m willing to support developers, with Bazar items for example, they were way too expensive and sometimes didn’t work as intended.
It feels like some features are designed to be overpowered at launch and then nerfed later, encouraging players to spend money before the changes are made.
It’s disappointing to see that issues raised by the community, like the unbalanced storage, often go unaddressed. No comment for a long time by funcom. Even if they should know that they have to correct this. It feels like a strategy.

I believe Funcom could learn a lot from the No Man’s Sky team. Their approach of continuous updates, community engagement, and focus on gameplay over monetization seems to be working very well. It would be great to see Funcom adopt a similar philosophy.

Well, Hello Games is owned by Sean Murray himself, FC is owned by 10cent.
You do the math

Can’t hotfix the playstation on any hour, as that would look like an exploit. We want it fixed and consistent. As these kind of threads reveal, there are multiple timelines for what is in play here. It must be consistent, even those are scheduled every half year. That matches the bulk of it from this angle.

I want to sit down and play, too. Only the PC can override my immersion.

Only by law.

…every good programmer is lazy. Those that are not or those that complain about the process only reveals they shouldn’t be programming. Programmers need to ■■■■■ the situation as clients are not that patient. I mean assets as in $$$. (Spellchecker has bugs.) Follow the money…

…and why does FC-Discord consider that word as not legit?

P.S. “We” being the developers (from my angle). If I see that term in my contract, it is over. Corporate greed? The modders aren’t greedy enough!

While ownership structures play a role, it’s ultimately about passion and vision.

Hello Games’ team, led by Sean Murray, clearly loves their game and it shows.

If Funcom could cultivate a similar environment where the team feels empowered to create the best possible experience for players, it would be a win-win for everyone.
More satisfied players mean more sales, a healthier community, and a more sustainable game in the long run.

10cent does not own funcom they have a contract with 10 tencent so fare i can understand. look at the link its frome 2019
Funcom Press Center - “Tencent to become largest shareholder in Funcom”

I remember watching a stream where they explained how they came up with the new shop and battle pass system.

A marketing guy convinced them it was the best way to go. He was probably put there by the biggest shareholder. That shareholder has stakes in other games that use the same monetization strategies. It seems like profits weren’t high enough, and whoever invests the most money gets the final say.
While that’s understandable from a business perspective, it’s sad to see the potential of this game wasted. I think we have enough content for the shop and I am not against new skins and items for any price. But I wish the top priority was ensuring everything works as intended, whether it’s a new feature or something that’s been in the game for a long time.

Pretty much the same way tencent does it in all the games they ow… have controlling shares in. I’ve played enough of them.

I don’t have an issue with it. As I’ve said I’m task oriented and like challenges/jobs. Hell I’m retired and write my own do lists.

I loved Ring of Elysium when I first started paying, then tencent. Game got the pass, levels of the pass, and an in game store. Didn’t have an issue with it. But what came with it was developmental cycles that did not include proper testing or fixing after release. So in no time we had maps with holes, guns that glitches, features that didn’t work, bugs and half backed features. The game is still running, maps still have holes, broken features have either been fixed or removed. Game has been sunseted. It’s a zombie with a few hundred still playing, so server is up. Events have been removed but the pass is is still running recycling old content.

Funcom was wholly acquired and owned by Tencent after that, as @lanier67 has pointed out.

While I like to assume they don’t make the rules, they probably do.

Is there any estimate on when the crafter followers going missing issue will be patched? I was really enjoying Living Settlements for the short time I had my followers in my settlement. Although they didn’t seem to do nearly as much working as they did eating, sleeping and sitting. Their work ethic could use a boost.

oh well i missed something i ahve scrolled that web site so many time shiit happends,

Yep -Tencent is on its last chance now. Funcom - 1st strike AoC godslayer debacle, second strike THIS patch, 3rd strike well your out.

Already have another game lined up if they screw this one up.

(Psst! sex doesnt sell in the gaming industry , just sayin!)

Quick update: We have a hotfix currently undergoing certification and we hope to release it next week. Major items being addressed by the patch include:

  • Workers becoming poisoned
  • Workers being teleported to 0,0,0
  • Stationary characters sinking into terrain (This should address many cases of the overarching problem but may not be a 100% airtight solution, but it’s progress)
  • Fixes for undermeshing and instant kill spots

Will keep you posted as soon as we have a more accurate timeline. Thank you for your attention and patience!
