why are there no weapons on the body? I think this system will make the character more real. if there are those who agree, support this idea. If you want to see the sword on the back or side, you can come up with belts to carry weapons. I really hope for your help. that my idea will be supported by others. and it will appeal to developers. if possible Please tell me your opinion. the character, who has a belt for weapons or scabbard with a sword, bag with supplies, looks natural and lively.I hope that I will be supported the game has a great good balance, a beautiful world, a great editor. a few changes, minimal costs, and the game will be transformed.imagine a Gran Turismo in which the car has no wheels. there is a beautiful track, a lot of spectators in the stands, beautiful clouds over the nürburgring or the Daytona and the car is drawn perfectly, but there are no wheels how can you forget? after all, this machine is always in front of my eyes. character without weapons in the world of Conan looks unnatural and unreal. additions with a bunch of clothes will not revive the world of Conan. support me, please. pay more attention to realism and detail. this is the success of any game. the game has a character editor, you can change eyebrows and chin, as well as eyes and hair, but no weapons on the body. this is strange, because in game there is cold weapons. make at least a mod as an experiment. and you will see how many people will use it.you can solve it differently. is the armor of the thief, it is a pinned knife, it looks cool and it’s not empty. why are there no weapons on the other clothes? same sets with different weapons. in the crafting menu to add the sword of steel, and lo and behold on the armor appears greatsword behind his back and a hatchet. how do you like this option? or ready-made armor sets with weapons and bags? is it hard? the appearance of the character will change for the better.
So in other games we always had a character equipment sheet that lets you wear the main hand on the equipped slot. Now this was easy to do since you could target the item and retrieve data for the mesh that it belong to. Now We do not have a Main hand or a off hand equipment slot just a Hot bar of 1-9
Thus making this extremely hard to do so. I suppose what could have ended up is that we have the main hand and off hand weapon again and We can only use that weapon that are equipped until out of combat or inventory swap the item therefore we would have a Target item to retrieve the necessary mesh and freed up the hot bar to consumable and other item to use and not weapon.
But again due to how its being done you cannot do this with having a multiple weapon like 3 swords on hot bar 4 spear on hot bar, two bows two great-sword… how would you code the mesh for all of those weapons.
No need for all the slots, make it only appear the last weapon/tool you use it. Or slot 1 and 2 are the only ones that will display the iten.
Hmmm, that is valid reasoning there @Dragoonduneman. It would be hard to choose if you have a 2h sword, axe, shield, and truncheon all on your hot bar. My following example would not address your concerns for having 2 or more of the same weapon type, and which to show.
In ArcheAge they have a sub-menu in the character sheet that allows you to dictate which slots are shown and which are not as relevant. You could have the shield take priority on your back and the 1h weapon hanging from the hip, or you could have the 2h on you back instead. (Or the glider could take priority, but that’s irrelevant here ) Alternatively, you could choose nothing to display.
Admittedly, this would be a very neat feature. A simple animation of sheathing the weapons into the appropriate slots would go a long way towards immersion if this display system was made possible.
Please change the title to something more… obvious.
Why couldnt you stick to “Visual display of sheated weapons”?
And please dont get me wrong - I dont mean to bully you, but its really a pain to read this.
I dont disagree with your idea of displaying inactive/sheated weapons.
The issue I see is how we can run around with all 8 slots being filled with weapons…
If “the” weapon is meant to be displayed on the back of our toon… which weapon will that be?
How to distinguish what to display?
The most real way to do so would be to limit the toon on two sets of “hands” (2h blocking both) and having a key to switch those sets. This would probably be the perfect solution which also adds up perfectly with your idea. But…
… that idea wouldnt work well with a survival game which got a general hotbar which we may flood with whatever we like. Be it building parts or different food. It would defeat the whole thing about freedom.
This is what led people to say something like carrying 8 weapons on the back and that funny picture showing something like that as well.
Displaying the last weapon which got put away would defeat this purpose as well.
This is why even if I like the thought, its a bad idea with survival multiplayer games which work with this kind of hotbars.
Agreed Lot of good ideas here!
Why is the loot on dead thralls not randomly whatever is in the game, these are other exiles right, they wouldn’t need a chair or a nice black ice weapon? lol
And I would love to show weapons while running around for you and others to see.
correctly enough 1-2 slots, and the character will look cooler
I just suggested an option, your idea doesn’t contradict mine. or maybe your idea is better, I’m glad you’re discussing it.you can solve it differently. is the armor of the thief, it is a pinned knife, it looks cool and it’s not empty. why are there no weapons on the other clothes? same sets with different weapons. in the crafting menu to add the sword of steel, and lo and behold on the armor appears greatsword behind his back and a hatchet. how do you like this option? or ready-made armor sets with weapons and bags? is it hard? the appearance of the character will change for the better.
many developers have not done. That’s too bad. I wanted to see Conan is a bit similar to Skyrim.
there is a mod that does this but mainly due to balance issue and not wanting player to get free armor and weapons.
This system would go well with the vanity slot system.
EverQuest II, Rift and SWTOR exhibit the very best Wardrobe system I have ever seen.
2 Layers: actual equipment layer, and appearance layer. This includes weapons.
As simple as that.
Without a Vanity Slot system you’d end up looking like this:
Oooh Hardcore/Beast mode.
Sometimes in Conan you wish you had all of them tools at hand.
If you stack them, they lay right on top one another so you can get several times them throwing axes! Hear me funcom, they need to stack. 50 in your inventory to equip and throw separately is insane! Hold on Enemy Thrall… ooh d e r n!
If you played AOC or TSW you’d know Funcom doesn’t do weapon “sheathes” well. In AOC they suffered from a bug that caused the weapon to move incrementally to one side each time it was drawn, eventually getting to the point that the weapon was floating a few feet from you. This bug was in since beta and was never fixed. In TSW they suffered from a bug that caused slung shotguns and rifles to appear twice on the body, one in the usual spot and another sticking out of the shoulder. This bug was in since beta and was never fixed (even in the re-release). I’d honestly rather pull weapons out of my ■■■.
I like
and can I get a sheath for a Smoking pipe
any idea can be made absurd. I offered to do the minimum. read my post completely.
even if the weapon would simply be a piece of clothing, as an example the knife on the armor of the thief.
unfortunately, the developers do not read my messages, and do not take seriously, I really like this game, but it is not quite atmospheric and realism in detail.
