Since when does the SMELTER double the craft time of the ARTISAN BENCH
The nearby smiths and Carpenters don’t affect this bench but the SMELTER DOES??

This is how it worked before too. According to the wiki only smelter and tanner increase the speed of crafting at artisans’ tables. Just now, it’s noticeable since this info is better communicated in-game. I agree it is weird and not what you’d expect, carpenter is the thrall I would have thought to do so.
I have played this game for YEARS. YEARS!!! and I have never known this

Hey, speak for yourself. When I need some nice handcrafted wooden furniture IRL, I go find my local metallurgist or leatherworker. If they know how to work metal or skin an animal, they’ll surely know how to make me a cupboard!
Who else would you expect to build you some furniture, your carpenter “builder” thrall? Nah, that’s the bow and arrow maker, duh.
