We want to explore new and exiting lands, Discover new city’s, dive into new dungeons.
A map the size of the original, big with multiple bio domes.
Please pump new life into the game like WOW does for example with expansions and a new world to explore.
It can even have bugs we don’t care we just want a new map,
I will even pay a monthly subscription of $15 and expansion fee of $50 per person, many people will, people are hungry for a new map in the game we LOVE.
I doubt they can. Siptah already was/is arguably a failure and perhaps considered not worth updating and fixing.
Apart from the technical side, what could they officially release at this point that wouldn’t ruffle feathers? Modders can just design anything of course, and can’t be held accountable for potential (in)accuracy of what gets implemented.
I doubt they could introduce (parts of) the mainland. What other odd lost and/or mystical lands or realms could they possibly introduce at this point, really?
Well, remember that Funcom ran into several issues when they released Isle of Siptah:
Limited Content and Map Variety: The new map, Isle of Siptah, was seen as smaller and less varied compared to the Exiled Lands. Players felt that it lacked the diversity of biomes and points of interest present in the base game. The Dawn and Dusk landmasses were added later to somewhat address this issue, but they weren’t part of the original plan.
Grind-Heavy Gameplay: The expansion introduced a new gameplay loop that involved grinding for resources and summoning surges to bring NPCs into the world. Many players found this process repetitive and time-consuming. Again, Wild Surges were removed and even requirements for Surges were decreased.
Lack of Thralls: Unlike the Exiled Lands, where thralls (NPCs that can be captured and put to work) were abundant, the Isle of Siptah made acquiring thralls much more difficult. This was a significant change that frustrated players who enjoyed the thrall system in the base game. Eventually, camps were established on Siptah, but again, that was not part of the original plan. It was an empty map with Wild and Summoned Surges for exiles.
Pacing and Progression Issues: Players criticized the progression system in Isle of Siptah, which felt slower and less rewarding. The randomness of the surge mechanic, which was crucial for acquiring thralls and advancing in the game, added to this frustration.
Story and Lore Gaps: The expansion was perceived as lacking in story and lore depth compared to the base game. The lore provided in Isle of Siptah felt disconnected from the established Conan universe, leaving players wanting more context and narrative engagement.
PvE and PvP Imbalance: The new mechanics, such as the Maelstrom and wild surges, were not well balanced between PvE and PvP gameplay. PvE players found the challenges too difficult or not worth it, while PvP players had concerns about how the new features affected the competitive balance. Worse still, when cross-server was permitted, players with “higher” gear from Siptah invaded the Exile Lands, they had a distinct advantage over base-game players (ie. Pay to Win).
Base Building Limitations: The map design and game mechanics in Isle of Siptah made it harder to find suitable locations for building bases. This was particularly problematic for players who enjoyed the creative and strategic aspects of base building in Conan Exiles.
Technical Issues and Bugs: At launch, players encountered various technical issues, including server instability, crashes, and bugs that affected gameplay. These issues contributed to a less-than-smooth gaming experience.
Player Feedback and Response Time: There was a perception that Funcom was slow to address community feedback and concerns regarding the expansion. This led to dissatisfaction among players who felt their feedback was not being taken seriously.
So if Funcom were to produce a new map, I would hope that they would learn from the mistakes of Siptah, produce a map comparable to the Exiles Lands that’s balanced for PvE and PvP, and without the lighting issue on Siptah, too. Making a beautiful map and hiding it in darkness… I can still picture that meme from years ago.
We just need a new Exile Lands map 2.0 (not exactly the same, but maybe its cousin or brother).
Like i talked they can just add new areas in exile lands.
I hope they use they time to solve all problems bugs and glitchs the time they will lose in making a new empty map they can use in solving all the problems.
I’ve had some thoughts about this. If the same map is used for the most part it would of course save on a whole lot of time and pain.
How would it be made different, though? Different world states? Something like a Cursewall world state and Cursewall-broken jailbreak / whatever different world state if the Exiled Lands is actually just an illusion/Eldritch realm or something similar?
Or maybe just a skip in time to see what happens if hypothetically some exile has done everything needed to gather the artifact, assuming there isn’t an endless supply of artifacts?
I mean, they could of course expand on the story quite a bit and perhaps offer insights or different perspectives but there are a lot of open ends and grey areas of sorts and things in the game are progressing slowly to the point of anything actually barely changing in a meaningful way.
Maybe they really are building up to something world-shattering with Mek-Kamoses, but i doubt it.
If modders working alone after work can produce full size maps with no bugs there’s no excuse why funcom cant.
it would breath life back into the game and bring 100,000 + people or more to the game.
We want a Conan2 map extention of the vanilla game not a isle of shipta garbage
There are no good games every gamer is looking for a game to play now is the time to strike for Funcom
Some mods change the game completely, that’s fine, well, some maybe change it too much.
Siptah is not as pretty as Exiled Lands.
New dungeons would be nice… and well, paying for them, let’s see what prices they put. In the exiled lands and in Siptah.
Being able to go to Siptah from a ship or several ships from the exiled lands and being able to return from another ship or a port… and perhaps new maps, since you add maps, well, you put two or three maps, instead of one, it’s not very difficult, paying for them,of course… Having a game with both maps or with new maps all linked together, being able to go to Siptah with the same character you play with in the exiled lands. I don’t know what kind of impediments there would be to using a game capable of connecting with 5 or more maps, in short, single player, cooperative or PVP and PVE.
And a store to see everything there is and what is on sale. I’m playing the BETA on a multiplayer server right now, I guess I can’t use the bazaar for some reason, I imagine it’s to prevent the bazaar from being cracked and to be able to add money to the account… on normal servers or in single player it would be nice to be able to enter a shop with EVERYTHING displayed from the first page of the game, if it’s for security, well, it’s fine, but it prevents you from looking at the bazaar, and well, it’s expensive, although some offers are good and I noticed almost two weeks ago that some prices were a bit more moderate, it’s expensive but not that much.
All this is thinking about people who have already played the game, who really like the game for the freedom of being able to do what you want and adding new things… so as not to change games and keep playing and paying for conan stuff.
I personally wouldn’t mind to have a new map. But seeing Siptah “abandoned” in the last updates isn’t encouraging if you’re getting me.
So i like the idea, but i am not sure if you’re getting me here.
I voted no because I don’t want a single new map. I want a new map after each age and all previous maps are removed. Each is a fresh canvas that we all partake into and new aspects come into play. Hell I would say expand the current biomes to full fledged maps and let us play in each for a year with new stuff added each time.
Desert
unnamed city
jungle
swamp
highlands
Frozen North
Volcano
That’s 7 different locations they could expand into full fledged maps with dungeons that can be explored, lore added, and new adventures/quests in each.
Those ambiguous "we"s and “many people”'s are nothing more than weasel words. They just elude to some amorphous group of “we” without defining who this “we” is, or providing any evidence that this “we” even exists so that it makes their point sound like it has some legitimacy without making any attempt to provide evidence of it.
As to the subject at hand, and for my reasoning as to why I had voted no in your poll, it is rather simple. Conan Exiles does not have the numbers that it once had, and being that the game has been out since 2018 (officially, 2017 if you count early access), then this is not exactly surprising. When the Isle of Siptah map first launched it divided the player base amongst two maps which were mutually exclusive, you could not be on both maps at the same time and you could not go back and forth between the two maps. Now that the number of players are even smaller adding yet another map (and there are plenty of private servers who already play Savage Wilds [a mod created map which has further split the players] ) you would be splitting the players yet again, which we quite simply do not have the numbers to sustain.
Now on top of that you would ask that people spend the damn near the price of a full game AND a monthly subscription fee JUST TO PLAY THIS NEW MAP? This is utter lunacy at it’s peak levels. Now I understand that one of the reasons the Funcom has decided not to continue supporting the Isle of Siptah map is because, frankly, very few people play on it. That is a sad excuse considering those people who do play on it have literally had to pay for it. But I suspect that another reason, one that they simply have not wanted to admit to, is because they do not have the manpower and resources to dedicate to properly creating these Ages / Chapters for BOTH maps in the required time allotment. So where do you think that Funcom will find the time to dedicate to creating all of these thing AS WELL AS an entire new freaking map? It is just not feasible, or rational.
So please @Mezrine, I hope that you have taken the time to read this over and have grasped the reality of what you are actually asking for here. Now I have a question for you. Do you actually think that Funcom, in their current state, are actually capable of doing what you are asking for?
I would appreciate a stranded deep idea on Conan exiles to be fair. A map with small islands that i need a raft to visit and each island have something unique to survive and grow, no mounts less possible pets and raids or purges coming from the sea. I know that this idea would run really good in small servers, max 10 people.
With a bit different mechanisms, like spear fishing for example, not great variety of weapons and hell no legendaries! Only crafted gear and really difficult xp gaining so the player once more will enjoy the upgrades of his crafting progress.
I believe that the survival aspect of this game is missed more than anything else. This time the player won’t be able to drink from the sea, so clean water will be difficult and important.
This map i believe does not require huge ram and may be better for console players, because 50 giga is just capacity and capacity we have, ram we don’t!
I’m gonna have to say ‘hell no’ to that one. I already dislike the whole Age system, the absolute last thing I would want is to be locked into ‘this Age will be played on this map and your playthrough will end when we say it does’. That sounds incredibly limiting.
I like the normal map, but I would like to see it expanded - almost half of the normal map is desert
I would like to see more highland-style landscapes - it’s what players like most anyway, and it’s often overbuilt
