One the size of the original map not a teeny tiny baby one like the Isle of Siptah.
So we can explore, have new places to build. New dungeons and not the silly ones like the Isle.
the servers would all fill back up people love this game but are bored to death with the map.
we need a new map yesterday
I know every centimeter/inch of Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah (only 5k hours here). I stopped using the map function and just travel by memory. Can’t imagine how someone with 10k hours feels.
I think we should be more specific… we need a new PvE map (not an empty PvP map with light problems like the Isle of Siptah that was only transformed to PvE after players’ feedback). Another dimension to the mysterious Exiled Lands would be interesting (with lots of suitable building locations, caves, and canyons). The first Exiled Lands map was great; please make a new PvE map like that one.
I would also purchase a new map. I would purchase any decent new content that wasn’t half baked, ill conceived, poorly executed, and bug ridden. It also wouldn’t be part of a battle pass where I have to pay for it and then grind to unlock the items I have paid for. I also feel they need to make the maps linked together through a portal similar to taking the canoe in the jungle. I feel the only reason this isn’t currently possible is it forces more server rentals 1 map/server.
sometimes I am bewildered.
A sandbox survival is not a themed park with patched new (endgame) content.
BLIZZARD’s World of Warcraft is still on the market, but I know 13€ each month hurts. Even worse they want for each 2 years add on like 60€.
Monetization is no luxury - rather a necessity.
Seriously how do you think new (exciting?) content should be pushed?
I mean it.
What was the slur again - I read in almost every thread about people who enjoy stuff from the Bazarr…
This was it…
Obviously, there aren’t enough whales around here otherwise, Isle of Siptah would have performed better on the market.
So who is to blame?
There are ways to deal with bewilderment. Googling some basic stuff is one of those ways. Case in point:
It’s not a slur, it’s sales lingo that leaked into mainstream gamer culture.
Isle of Siptah was before they shifted to new monetization and started targeting whales.
People who have no clue what they’re talking about, maybe.
That chip on your shoulder is quite big, but not big enough to hide your ignorance. There’s been plenty of criticism aimed at modders, and much more vitriolic than your petty and aimless ad hominems.
Siptah was a failure for a variety of reasons. If you need a TL;DR, most of them boil down to “they had a good idea, did a shoddy job executing it, got cold feet and ripped out what made it unique, and took too damn long to release the resulting mishmash”.
Have you played Isle of Siptah at all, your old-fashioned opinion certainly doesn’t sound like it. Siptah is a complete map that certainly has its own charm, but not as much as the EL theme park. Isle of Siptah also has no more color problems… and if you look at the history of the island, everything looks very coherent as usual. So give it a try. I read some of the accusations of the beta, the map has evolved.
My reaction does not only refer to Mezrine. Sorry for the isolated answer, I couldn’t edit it.
Siptah was good while there was a maelstrom to fight hordes of enemies. When they got that nerfed, i stopped enjoying the map.
At least server transfers made it possible to get stuf to Exiled Lands and have fun there, but they disabled that too and Siptah become barren, most official servers got to 0 players pretty fast.
I am actually thinking this is a thread they are watching so I will put it out there…
Unless you have new contract with Gportal, you are probably being charged for servers that are not being utilized that much and therefore I recommend you think about a complete redesign of the game itself to one where an Age introduction gives you a new map to explore with the idea that the Age’s additions will be fully maximized in this map compared to the others but this space will not be a permanent area. It goes away at the Age’s end to be replaced with a new map. You keep the EL map the same. It’s the tried and true and has been loved for years now. It is the safe spot for all the vets out there that just want to maintain their builds and old ways. You have Siptah, which was a good product but it’s business plan was less than transparent. What you do with that is your business but I do know several people that love it more than EL and it is part of the perk of a paid DLC so you guys need to figure it out. But the new map gives you an open field to explore and add without the baggage of old and showcase your products better. You are literally designing a showroom that the players can look at these things and see in it’s glory in the control of another sandbox…that isn’t going to strain those relations and expectations of the other maps.
Its a mix of both worlds that I think would work well if you can plan it and it motivates the team to figure out server transfers (which I believe the consensus is just allow knowledges to transfer between the servers) which shouldn’t be that hard anymore since you seemed to have mastered this with the BLB and BP systems.
We want a PVE map, the PVP are either empty or toxic…
PVE is enjoyable to explore, craft, socializing, it’s just wonderful…
10’s of thousands of people would gladly pay for a new or extension of Exiled lands if it’s big like the original.
We want to explore and do dungeons.
We would be okay with a PVP zone… like world of warcraft has
I play on Siptah really often and I really can’t understand your description. When was the last time you played there?
Otherwise, I completely agree with you. I would also be in favor of a well-rounded game with fewer bugs overall than some new content, but unfortunately I know their attitude.
I agree that a new map would likely be reserved for CE2… but hey, a new map for CE is possible. Wouldn’t think likely tho. A significant chunk of the development is behind the scenes on the devkit with the custom map modding ability they gave us during Siptah development likely means they want us to make our own maps if we don’t want to use EL of Siptah. Players have such varied tastes that a new map will please only a subset, and then that’s one more map to support with the battlepass. People already have a love/hate relationship to Siptah, and that’s the existing datapoint. FC knows how much effort and resources it took to do and what revenue came of it. I just don’t see it happening. I love making maps and and going to continue to do so, learning how to add more with each one. I know FC could do it better and faster than I can, but its still significant development time that the devs would have to spend not doing other things.
