Logging in to our server today and nearly had a heart attack. Why is the server spawning a 3-skull croco in my base? Never encountered something like this before. Server runs on current patch and there are absolutely no mods installed. We even reinstalled the server after Patch v3.0.
That’s not “inside”. That’s on the ground outside.
Edit: building pieces/foundations will claim a certain amount of land and cause despawn. Anything outside that area will still spawn.
Yup, you built right next to the boss. In 2.8 you probably despawned him. In 3.0 he’s pissed and coming after you!
Solution: Don’t build next to a boss.
Well nice… how are you supposed to know that you are building next to a possible boss spawn… Great patch really.
For the most part, you don’t know. But also know that that’s not a normal spawn. All spawns have a chance to spawn a mini-boss like that. Other areas of the map have dedicated bosses you’ll come across and you’ll know their spot.
Edit: on second look, that might be a usual spawn there, can you share map screengrab?
Does not look like a boss spawn place to me on Exiles map . Although I have perhaps not run into every one. @stelagel does this look familiar to you.?
Interesting. After the patch, a white one skull wolf spawns right behind my base now. I have been at that location for over a year so I know for a fact it was not something I despawned. I think FC tossed in some random mobs with this update.

And one thing I forgot: about 100m away from there - the server thought it would be a cool idea to spawn again 2 (!) more 3-skull crocos. Wth is wrong with the spawn system?
Have not played on Siptah for a while don’t remember boss crocodile spawn. Of course new things on Exiles now also. Good luck to
Doesn’t look like it’s supposed to be that way. Could you share a screenshot of the map so that we can see where the boss/base is?
One thing about Siptah: All spiders spawn points had a chance to spawn a three skull spider boss. Took me a while to understand, but I’ve seen a random giant spider in at least three random places - never spawned there again, no legendary chest nearby. I assume that’s an intended feature.
Never seen this with crocodiles, but maybe the same is true for croc bosses. Maybe something about that didn’t work before, and 3.0 fixed it?
Two random boss spawns, however, seems so very much unlikely that I cannot assume that it’s supposed to be that way.
Yeah could you please share location? If it is rock on seaside close to Wreck of the Sea Dog then i’m in big trouble…have built my base on that rock. There was neither crocodile spawn nor boss spawn before…

You know that I have the madness to create new characters and help others. On 3500 I felt changes on some landscapes too, but I am not so sure. I am not speaking for huge changes, small ones, one great rock was missing here, white rabbits, lotus spawns in places I didn’t remember they existed, etc…
Another weard point is what JJ said, some bosses, 1 skull, were a bit differently spawned, but my speculation was something between that another build forced them to spawn on different place !

It is true that all the servers now start filling and you see rules violations all around. People massively spread foundations without caring again, the game already launched with issues and these behaviors do make things worst.
I don’t know…

About the op all I have to say is 2 things.

2nd, this remind me of an old bug that when someone was destroying the spawn of a world boss it was spawning in a different place away from its original. I remember years ago the white tiger spawning for some days in sinchole .

You will almost ALWAYS know. The only way you wouldn’t know is if someone else killed it and you came along and built your base in the 20min it took him to respawn. I’m sure that’s happened a few times in the history of Conan but it’s going to be an extremely rare set of circumstances.
You’ll know because you will have to kill him or be killed when you begin building your base.
AS for me this is cool dude - you have boss guardian now (lel)
i wish we have more random (chaotic) spawns for mini and big bosses, this will prevent farming and blocking certain areas, which now work like some hunting park for killing bosses
I have a feeling something has changed either intentionally or unintentionally in 3.0; constructions don’t seem to cancel spawns the same way they did before. At least not nearly at the same distance.
I built a temp base at the croco river next to tower of bats in exiled lands, you know, the river that is teeming with crocodiles. To my surprise I couldn’t seemingly disable any of the croco spawns.
If that was something they did on purpose I’m all for it! If people built over the boss spawn they should be made to deal with it on a daily basis! Not to mention that in most cases other players will now not be deprived of being able to fight them!
In fact it might be interesting if they also either tripled the number of bosses that spawn there or increased their HP & Dmg 3 to 5 fold. j/k but it would be interesting and deserved in a lot of cases. LOL Builds over a boss in 2.8… wakes up in 3.0 with all their thralls dead! Perfect!

And for your info - its not our base, its the base of a friend who plays with us - and I am pretty sure if there was an 3 skull crocodile when he was building the base - he for sure would not have built his base there.
I can’t see from the photo, but if it’s a random mini boss spawn, then no, you can’t always know since they have a chance to spawn in many locations where normal npcs spawn. If it’s the 3 skull bosses you get legendary keys from, then yea, I agree, which I stated.

Thanks for screenshot. It is exactly the same spot where my base stands on official server. Yesterday I checked on two other Siptah official servers (where this very spot wasn’t taken and no buildings on it or around) - it is empty, not any spawn at all. As far as i know there isn’t any animal spawn at least since new Siptah lands were added into game. But that doesn’t change a suspicion that something might be changed into spawn tables/orders… For example i had a deer and wolf spawns near my base in EL North previously. After update there are some black bears now, wolf and deer is gone.
