What about the special effects that trigger after defeating the boss in the new Giant Kings dungeon? Please fix them!

Anyone who has defeated the new dungeon’s boss at least once has encountered these effects: the rolling thunder and the appearance of a star in the sky.

It was cool at first, but now the thunder is getting pretty annoying—and it turns out I’m not the only one who feels this way. My friends are also fed up with the constant rumbling.

What do you think of the sound?

I’d like to suggest that the developers make these special effects trigger only when someone on the server defeats the boss.

First of all, we realize we shouldn’t go there just yet; we need to let the timers reset—including the chest timers by the anvil (for instance, I went there twice, and they weren’t there).

Secondly, those sounds wouldn’t bother us so often…

While I haven’t directly had a problem with this (singleplayer, so really not the same issue), I have seen several people comment that they find the noise far too much and quite unpleasant. I think your suggestion of having it run more briefly seems like a very good idea.

What you saw happen at the death of the Anvil Keeper triggered , something…

That something is foretelling us of something more sinister coming our way.

The light in the sky followed by the sound of the earth itself caving in.

It better be unsettling to anybody who triggered it as well as unsettling to anybody who witnesses it.

Pucker up. The time comes and there is no stopping it.

Well, for some reason, I have a feeling that terrifying, hideous monsters are going to come pouring out of that hole and onto our heads in the next chapter.

But that doesn’t change the fact that the awful noise makes me regret killing the boss already :))))

Every time I hear that sound and see those lights… gives me the heebie jeebies.

A definite sense of dread.

What have we done.

It is likely to only last until the next chapter, then something else will happen.

Like the eclipse during Age of Sorcery, it was just for one chapter.

@Tephra, I can vaguely recall that. It actually took place in the game environment and not just the dungeon, did it?

Yes, the sun was eclipsed every day.

The RPers hated it.

Thank you.

I’m surprised it actually ended instead of happening like some random event.

I know it still happens within the dungeon.

Personally, I think it would be cool to have a server setting that allows occasional eclipses.

I wish, by default, there would be an eclipse every 182 in-game days, which in real time would be about once per week.

It would need the game to save the day number to the database though, which I do not believe it currently does.

That would indeed be cool.

I’m playing solo and have already regretted killing this boss more than once. If I’d known about these effects in advance, I wouldn’t have done it.
I wanted the kaleidoscope in the sky and the explosions to last for about five minutes after killing the boss and then disappear.

There was also the beam at the spire.

I like the effect really,

because of exactly this.

But settings might be convenient for people bothered by it.

That beam of light similar to the signal of the hunt and like those once seen associated with those “god bubbles”.

I remember it now that you just mentioned it.

It was at the Spire?

Yeah, huge red beam coming from the spire where Mek had tied up the princess.

Akhmet yells: “gods of the deep” from beyond the veil.

That’s a definite Lovecraft connection.

Does anyone know when to expect the story to continue? We’ve already farmed the dungeon, and things have gotten boring in Conan again. If only they’d kept or brought back the Battle Pass, there would at least be a reason to log in…

I expect there will be at least three months between chapters, as that is the minimum that the Ages system had when it started. However, it seemed to be pretty clear during that schedule that was a bit tight, so I would err on the side of more than three months.

The next major update should be the Unreal Engine 5.8 upgrade and implementation of Iris.

I’d guess the next chapter of Legacy of the Giant-Kings won’t be until November or December.

Not only the RPers  .

That would be amazing, not just cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:.

But eclipse should be punishing also, wild and random Extra spawns of dreadful beasts all around the map and all the main spawns dmgx3 . So the ones that afraid of it should stay sheltered, but the rest of us party time :star_struck: .

I just remember the time that we had the events with tentacles in the sky. And because of how time updates differently for other players, no one had a clue wtf I was upset about… Until they lined up with me :v
