What actions add to a purge meter?

I’ve looked through the forums and it seems the info is either outdated or not clear.
What actions contribute to the purge meter?

The most recent info I’ve gotten (2021) is that crafting/cooking doesn’t add to the purge meter?
Also, harvesting also doesn’t add to the purge meter?

The only actions that add to the purge meter are the following

log in or dying - 100

building - 200 per placeable - but not if it’s upgrading an existing building piece that is connected to an existing building (adding on or expanding)

Killing NPC or animal - 200

Can someone verify that this is all true?

Based on my experience building fills it the fastest. Other than experience and the Wikki, I do not know any other sources that are reliable.

Your right, nothing is really reliable. Even the wiki states “Also possible activities, but currently not used” and that includes crafting and exploration.

I came across this and he explained that building onto an existing place, does not add to the meter.
In the comments, one person asks if crafting and cooking add to it and the posted replied no.
This is the most current info I’ve been able to find.

That wiki page is correct, but the phrasing is confusing. “Kill human” means “kill another player”, whereas “kill NPC” means “kill a human NPC” (i.e. non-human mobs don’t count).

You know what? I’ve lost count how many times I explained this on forums and I just realized that it’s a wiki, so it should be editable. :man_facepalming:

I’m gonna go edit that and hope Testerle and Jim don’t think I did a bad job :wink:

In the wiki, it states " As you play the game, gather resources, build, kill NPCs and explore the world.

Then below states “Also possible activities, but currently not used”

  • Craft Item
  • Exploration

This is also very confusing, which one is correct?

I’m not sure where that part came from. Looking at the history of that page, I see that there was a version that included those items, but like this:

  • Craft Item (0)
  • Exploration (0)

etc.

My guess is that these actions were somehow initially extracted from the DevKit and then, later, the actions with score 0 were moved to the section that says “currently not used”.

But that’s just a guess. Maybe @Testerle can clarify, since he authored that particular change (July 7th, 2019).

good analysis and very accurate. the values are actually from the devkit and were divided into the two groups after this constellation has not changed for a very long time.

oh and btw. the used names are the one from the devkit data table, and the complementary explanation is much appreciated. thanks.

No, it doesn’t. Trust me, if it did, I would never have any problems summoning a purge when I’m playing without clanmates :grin:
