It’s not really necessary, though. The game makes a backup by itself every five minutes. As long as your hard drives lives, your game is safe, just as with other local games.
You can even use this as a traditional save game mechanic. If you want to try out something, i. e. changing your base in a drastic way, copy this file somewhere, try out the thing, and if it didn’t work, put your old save file back.
Put a link to the folder mentioned above onto your desktop (or whereever), and it’s not much different from a save menu in a regular single player game.
ic. but from reading, it seems admin didnt really help to prevent it. so better go for the pc version it seems.
actually I got it very very cheap on ps before. dont know if it was wrong price or intended, but I got it for only 1 cent (not even a dollar) lol.so, there’s no way pc could beat that.
but, for sure (other than some weird pricing like this), almost every game is cheaper on pc (steam) than on ps store.
but anyway, the game is good and justify the asking price (I mean even without discount), if only without these bugs.
If you elect to play on the default settings then that is of course your prerogative, and if you find the current configuration enjoyable, then by all means run with it. But first I will say my peace and make a few points for consideration, then rest my case.
The default set up is intended for online players on official servers. You are not playing on an official online server with dozens of other players. And some of the settings are not relevant to your mode. For example, Decay is in place to (*try to) reduce overbuilding in a public space. Drop equipment on death is there for PvP to allow the victor to loot the fallen’s corpse. Believe me, NPC crocodiles have no need for your dragon powder or alchemical base. But that said if you desire that Diabloesque feature of having to run the gauntlet to retrieve your equipment upon death for added challenge, then by all means.
For some other examples, selecting ‘Allow Building Anywhere’ will allow you to build in the Unnamed City biome, in Sepermeru, beyond the Cursed Wall, to place Bedrolls down in dungeons (if you choose to), or place Maprooms down near Obelisks. Activating ‘Disable Building Abandonment’ will eliminate building decay in its entirety, meaning you no longer need to log in to refresh weekly. ‘Adjust Land Claim Radius’ will increase/decrease how close to your base the trees and vegetation begin to despawn. You can also toggle Living Settlements and Fatalities on/off should you wish, and adjust the range of the Thrall Pot and Pet Feedbox.
If you still wish to proceed as is then that is fine, happy gaming to you my good fellow! But just bear in mind that using Admin options is not cheating, you are not spawning in end game items for yourself. It was implemented for a reason; to allow Singleplayers and Private Servers to callibrate the experience to align with their circumstances and their mode of play.
I really dont like my equipment gone when I’m death. But lately, I’ve been playing souls like games and other survival games and they all just like that, so I kinda accept it as the part of the game.
I actually never know before this post that there’s building decay in offline conan game. Never saw it in my game. but I was playing for maybe about a few months and building my base so slow by myself everyday bit by bit, so maybe it just that the decay not happening yet cause I’ve been login everyday (actually I never logout as I just rest the ps everytime, and continue again later). But yeah, it would be good to prevent that so that my effort wont gone when I got bored and switch to other games, and back again later.
I will see the admin options later when I play again then. Thx very much for the suggestion
I’ll post this msg from another topic that you might find interesting for Single Player mode. It’s less limited than ppl think. It has its shortcomings, but also some possibilities.
On top of that, you can adjust many settings, like the speed you’ll progress, stamina consumption, damage multipliers, etc.
There are quite a few tweaks you can make to enjoy the game as you want it.
This is on console. On PC, with mods, it’s a whole different level.
But the market, right now, for a new high end pc is hideous. You’ll be burning money, getting less than what you should for the price. Ponder about it.
Really? A PS5 costs $499.99 for the digital version up to $749.99 for the pro.
The minimum required graphics card for Conan Exiles, the GTX 1650, costs between $180 and $300, so even if you find it on the high range of the price line that is still $199.99 less than the cheapest PS5. That’s… not more than 3… that’s less than one.
Now sure, if you are basing your math purely on something like the GeForce RTX 5090 then yeah, you could make that claim, but that is NOT your typical average consumer graphics card. Most gamers are not shelling out $3k for a freaking graphics card!!!
I completely agree with you here! Conan Exiles on PC has it’s huge list of bugs as well as it’s huge list of performance issues. However, the list of issues on both Playstation and Xbox are generally worse than on PC, because the game is made on PC and then ported over to those systems rather… funcom like. Basically the version of Conan Exiles that exist on Playstation is not the same that exist on Xbox which is not the same that exist on PC which is not the same that exist on Testlive which is not the same that the devs are working on!!! Wunderbar!
But because it is being developed ON PC’s, and tested ON PC’s, the PC version is the “more stable” version. And considering the aforementioned list of PC Bugs you pointed out, that is saying something. In other words, we are all equally screwed.
If you go to buy plumbing fittings my dear @Oduda the market will devour you . Just because you don’t know what to buy with a reasonable price and get what you need to serve you for years without issues. I do! It’s my job .
But when it comes to pc , just because it ain’t my job, the market will devour me. Of course when i’ll decide to build a PC, make no mistake, i will ask my friends in here to give me a list. I will take the list to a pc programmer and ask him to build it for me , i don’t trust electric device chains that sells fixed PCs (public, dixons ,etc …) .
But generally, because I love to be on these markets when my wife or daughter is out shopping, the prices i see for complete sets of pc gaming exceeds 1200 Euro. PlayStation digital is 350 Euro . That’s why i said this my dear friend, not because i am expert, but because i am dummy when it comes to pc buying or building.
The market is not in a good place for a new PC. Besides, you won’t buy a PC just to play Conan. When you buy, get yourself the best that you can afford and definitely ask for help. Keep in mind that you’ll have to buy the game and all extra content again.
You might also want to wait for the steam box. I heard it’s not better than a PS5 specs wise, but it could be more suitable to play Conan.
Oh if i would buy a gaming pc i would totally revive Minecraft and Southpark before i head to Conan. As for dlcs it would be optional because i would definitely try mods before anything else. I know that you don’t appreciate Minecraft so much brother but when it comes to Java , Minecraft rules . Bedrock has done a pretty progress, the game is a lot better than it use to be , still it ain’t Java.
I got myself a PC a while ago. My kid tried every game he couldn’t run before on console. But I won’t buy Conan Exiles for the 3rd time. It simply isn’t worth it.
But I had a phenomenal time with Skyrim, modded to high heavens!
. I will probably have the same issue, so leave it be for now. I just cannot afford it brother. Not to mention that my daughter will envy this gift and ask for her too … nope i can’t afford that .
Instead of buying the latest, high-end gaming PC, try cloud gaming providers such as Boosteroid or NvidiaGeForce Now. Just hook up your Steam account and stream over 1,700 high-end PC games directly to browsers, apps, smart TVs, and mobile devices. It enables users to play demanding titles on low-performance hardware, requiring only a stable internet connection (~35 Mbps) for 1080p/60fps gaming.
I’m currently residing in the UK and use Boosteroid and it costs me under £10 a month for unlimited access and I only use my old laptop and Microsoft one controller.
However, I always go to the “burn money as if it was infinite” route though and I have my eyes on a machine. The problem is that I think that for over 5k, I am not getting my money’s worth. I’m not in a hurry. I can wait a little longer.
Since the thread took this turn and since I’ve been looking into PC video cards a bit lately here’s what seems to be the reality as best I can tell.
First of all be aware there are many no name brands that are substantially cheaper than name brand cards. The Internet generally regards these as a waste of money plus many of them have been refurbished after being used for Bitcoin mining so they’ve had a hard life.
Something along the lines of a gtx 1660 ti/super or a rtx 2060 or the equivalent AMD cards will be fine for running most games at 1080. Be sure they have at least 6 gigs of memory. This is my cards shortcoming. It only has 4 gigs.
As an aside ASUS has those models with a single fan, called Phoenix fan, that are relatively cheap but the general consensus is they run too hot and too loud. The ASUS two and three fan models are regarded as great.
If you want to future proof your PC and play the newest games at higher resolutions with all the bells and whistles, like 4k and ray tracing, then you’re going to want something much more expensive with 16 gigs of ram. Rtx 5070 level or better.
As I understand it the rtx 5060 ti currently sits at a price/performance sweet spot but is gimped by only using half of the pci lane capacity. It’s overkill for older games but not quite up to snuff for newer ones.
AMD’s RX 9060 xt is also touted as a current price/performance contender.
Again, for either of those you want 16 gigs of memory for future proofing.
Feel free to show me what I missed. Also keep in mind all this info may be obsolete before I can even hit Reply.
My dear brothers and sisters and dearest @Community also. In this conversation we have no flames and zero disagreements . We are just adult gamers, some mothers and fathers and some even higher also grandparents. It’s very logical to this wonderful and honest conversation some truths to be mentioned. Please don’t flag them neither hide them, it’s simply rude and inappropriate to this level of conversation.
Thank you for your understanding and forgive my off topic.
Still we own gratitude to the community admin that unhide it.
@Community thanks a million, it’s really appreciated.
And not departing away from the topic, how many players would give a chance in a newest engine. I believe that in order to see this game fixed for good it needs 2 things.
Assignment to a team with good salaries and 10 years contract
New engine of course.
Probably since the beginning of this game many people has come and gone which makes the fixing scenario mission impossible.
This particular game is by far the best survival game. I have tried almost every single survival game that my console presented. I can surely point every weak point of each one , but none, literally none is giving you the feeling that this game does, yet this feeling will soon go because the capacity of bugs exceeds normal.
Conan can go extremely high and nudity can be provided only as dlc to adults, so minor ages can play it too . Gore is not surreal in this game yet it can be reduced and again sold as dlc to adults. It’s a game that many ages can enjoy so the costumer boundary extend more.
Funcom you created a diamond. Make it shine damn it , you’ll only win here.
