Just checking in - has the PS5 upgrade happened? Are they upgrading the engine to Unreal Engine 5? Maybe for the next expansion? Will there be good noob content for the next expansion for new players?
Thankyou.

From what I read probably a couple years ago that they would have to recreate the game to get it on UE5 that isn’t happening. Evidently they have taken part’s from UE5 and put into UE4 to upgrade as much as possible. No word about PS5 upgrade. @Lord_Burdock
No, and they won’t do that.
I saw one of the recent Wak videos, and it actually seems like the next patch is going to have a lot of amazing fixes for console specifically, it got me pretty excited!
If only they could keep up with the bugs and make hot fixes every week or 2 rather than waiting months for one bug fix. Problem is that one big fix rarely does the job and ends up adding more issues. Console is a bit screwed to begin with because there is no version of test live.
Unfortunately they have to go through Certification for Console’s Sony being the hardest.
Actually, they don’t need to. I’m an unreal developer (funcom hire me to fix your game please) and game producer.
You can upgrade your game to UE5, since it is almost the same thing, but some blueprints and code will break due the new tools, workflows, reworked functions and structures, etc. It is doable, but requires some effort that might not be interesting, not only financially, but gameplay-wise.
For instance, why would Funcom upgrade to UE5? To use nanite? The game doesnt have demanding graphics and geometry and also, all the LOD (level of detail) meshes have already been created. To use Lumen? Again, the game won’t profit of the changes, so why bother?
So I’ve heard but there are plenty of other games that role out patch’s weekly/bi weekly
You won’t get any new expansion beyond the new battle pass and the Bazaar.
Conan Exiles has ever only gotten 1 expansion which isn’t really an expansion, but more like a different map to start a character on… Isle of Siptah
I could be wrong, but once a year we will get a new Age that will add some themed events in 3 or 4 chapters.
With these updates/chapters there will off course be some changes, bug fixes and balancing, + off course new Bazaar items and battlepasses, but it will likely still be the same playground… Hopefully I am wrong, but I doubt
That depends on how the game is made by a developer. Conan is pc first, then ported to consoles. When a bug happens after port to console, it takes awhile to figure out why because its running fine on windows and the people who do the port are not the same that code the game, so there is an opacity there to the cause a lot of times. More frequent patches to consoles could probably be made but there would be no guarantee on that speedy of a schedule that the thing broken would be actually fixed and then you may have a new breakage from the attempted fix. Add to that resource limitations on consoles compared to pc and it gets a bit sticky. Then, there’s the whole cert process with Sony to deal with. If someone were primarily developing for PS systems, things would probably be a lot easier, but CE is a different beast.
Chapter 3 would be March I would assume
Conan Exiles engine is a heavily modified UE 4.15. That effort is much bigger than merely “interesting”.
